Mr. Ross was born on February 15, 1931, in Pelham, Georgia, to the late George Washington Ross, and the late Clyde Tomberlin Ross. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps and worked at Robins Air Force Base. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Marie Doreck Ross, son, William Neal Ross Jr., and sister, Betty Heard.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Ross Holcomb of Richlands, North Carolina, brother, Ralph Ross of Thomaston, sister, Esther Brown of Abilene, Texas, grandchildren, Natalie (Darrick) Venters of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Perry Holcomb III of Richlands, North Carolina, great grandchildren, Virgil William Witt of Richlands, North Carolina, Ariyah and Lylah Venters of Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
