Christine Daniel Threadgill

Mrs. Christine Daniel Threadgill, age 96, of Thomaston, died Wednesday evening, July 3, 2024, at her residence with her daughter by her side.

A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Threadgill will be held Monday, July 8, at 11:00 AM, at Flint River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Elder Lee Price officiating. The family of Mrs. Threadgill will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM.

 

Mrs. Threadgill was born in the Meansville Community of Pike County on November 27, 1927, a daughter of the late Louis Cornelius Daniel, Sr. and the late Frances Elizabeth Whatley Daniel. She was a 1944 graduate of R.E. Lee Institute, and she was a homemaker. Mrs. Threadgill was active with the URMC Auxiliary and a member of Thomaston First Methodist Church. She enjoyed baking and was well known for her pound cakes which were widely desired by many family and friends.

 

Mrs. Threadgill is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Threadgill Melton of Thomaston; her two granddaughters, Christy (Marcus) Wasdin and Caitlin (Lee) Wilder; and her two great granddaughters, Charlotte Ranney and Vivian Wilder. Several nieces, nephews, and many extended family whom she cherished also survive.

 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Threadgill was preceded in death by her husband, William Prentice Threadgill, her sisters, Frances D. Birdsong, Rachel D. Hudson and Emmie Adams, and her brother, L. C. Daniel, Jr.

 

Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Thomaston First Methodist Church or Flint River Primitive Baptist Church.
