Mr. Clifford Lowell McSwain, age 91, of Molena, GA, died Monday morning,
September 30, 2019, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin. 
Funeral services for Mr. McSwain will be held on Wednesday, October 2, at
4:00 PM in the Chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles
Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The
family of Mr. McSwain will receive friends on Tuesday evening, October 1,
from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

MRS. BRENDA HOBBS MOSS

Mrs. Brenda Hobbs Moss, age 69, of Thomaston, died Friday, September 27, 2019, at her residence.
Mrs. Moss was born October 21, 1949, in Butler GA to the late William W. Hobbs and Sara Hill Hobbs. She worked for B&G Manufacturing and was a member of Twin Oaks Baptist Church.
Survivors are her daughter, Mechile Hobbs of Butler GA; sister, Peggy Allen of Thomaston; brother, Lewis Hobbs of Garden City GA; grandchildren, Ashley, Chris, and Justin; and great-grandchild, Hagen.
Memorial services for Mrs. Moss will be announced at a later date.

MR. JERRY MERRELL FOSTER

Mr. Jerry Merrell Foster, age 82, died Saturday, August 24, 2019, at Warm Springs Nursing Home.
Jerry was born May 17, 1937, in Thomaston GA, to the late, William Edward Foster and RosaLee York Foster. He was a retired long-distance truck driver, small business owner, and Veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served as an aircraft mechanic.
Jerry was a kind and humble man that would do anything for anyone. Jerry was very proud of his son and grandsons and would share stories with everyone he would meet about each of them. Jerry touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Cecil Edward Foster and Woodrow Wilson (Woody)Foster
Jerry was married to Mrs. Sharon Smith Foster Paterson and he is survived by son, William Edward (Ed) Foster; sister, Martha Jenelle Etheridge; grandchildren, Austin Foster, Zack Foster, and Chance Foster and his loyal dog Rachel.

Mr. Jesse Will Shaw Jr., age 54, of Thomaston GA, died Thursday, September 26, 2019, at his residence.
It was Mr. Shaw's wishes to donate his body to science.
Mr. Shaw was born September 1, 1965, in Thomaston to the late Jesse Will Shaw Sr and Betty Jean Scott Shaw. He was a mechanic.
He is survived by his fiance, Lisa Fogarty; daughter, Roxanna Shaw of Florida; sons, Jeremy Shaw of Louisiana and Joshua Shaw of Thomaston; sister, Wendy Shaw (Donald) Lucas of Clarksville TN; brothers, David (Daine) Shaw of Locust Grove GA and Larry Shaw of Thomaston.

Mrs. Francis Laverne Hanson Newman, age 86, of Thomaston GA, died Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at her residence.
Mrs. Newman was born December 20, 1932, in Upson County. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Phebean Sunday School class. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leon Newman.

MR. CALVIN L. TILL SR.

Mr. Calvin L. Till, Sr., 74, of Thomaston and formerly of Monroe County,
died Saturday, September 21, 2019 at his home.
Funeral services for Mr. Till will be held Thursday, September 26, 2019 at
3:00 PM at the Crest Campus of the Fellowship Baptist Church,3133 Crest
 Highway, Thomaston, GA 30286, with Rev. Jason Weeks officiating.  Burial
will follow  at the Russellville Baptist Church Cemetery in Monroe County at
4:00 PM.  The family of Mr. Till will receive friends at the church on
Thursday from 1:30 until 3:00 PM.
Mr. Till was born in Macon on July 3, 1945, a son of the late Cecil Calvin
and Homie Lindsey Till.  He served his country in the U. S. Army and was
employed with the Georgia Power Company as a control room operator.  He
retired in 2006 after 32 years of service.
Mr. Till was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and was also a member
of the Georgia Cattlemen's Association.
Mr. Till is survived by his wife, Faye Till of Thomaston; a daughter, Sherri
Till of Forsyth; 1 son, Calvin "Cal" L. Till, Jr., (Julie) of Forsyth; two
step sons, Wes Wilson (Pam) of Thomaston and Chris Wilson (Julie) of
Griffin; a sister, Justine Moseley of Trumansburg, NY; and five
grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Mr. Till requests that memorial donations
be made to the Fellowship Baptist Church, 1165 Hannah's Mill Rd., Thomaston,

MRS. MATTIE ELIZABETH HARWELL

Ms. Mattie Elizabeth Harwell age 76 of Thomaston Ga, died Monday September 23, 2019 at Upson Regional Medical Center.
Ms. Harwell was born on January 26, 1943 in Thomaston Ga, to the late Obie Lee Gresham and the late Mary Alice Ellington Gresham. She was formerly employed with Martha Mills where she worked as a Twister and Respool operator. Ms. Harwell was a member of Thomaston Church of God.
Survivors include her son Mr. Carlton Randy (Earlene) Harwell, sister Mrs. Mary Nell Wilson, sister in law Mrs. Montine Gresham, many nieces,nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.
Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday September 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.

MR. J.D. PARKER SR.

Mr. J.D. Parker Sr., age 90 of Macon Ga, formerly of Thomaston Ga, died Monday September 23, 2019 at Upson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Parker was born on February 22, 1929 in Dallas Ga, to the late Malcolm Eugene Parker Sr., and the late Estelle Hudgins Parker. He worked in the body and fender repair business for many years. Mr. Parker was a member of Gray United Methodist Church in Gray Ga. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son J.D. Parker Jr., and brother in law Johnny Pruitt.
Survivors include his daughter Mrs. Delores Crump of Macon Ga, son Mr. Robert D. (Janet) Parker Sr. of Macon Ga, brother Mr. Malcolm E. Parker Jr. of Ms, sisters Mrs. Geneva Allen of Thomaston Ga, Mrs. Jewel Dean Pruitt of Macon Ga, 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren.

Mr. David Norman Evans, age 66, of Thomaston GA, died Thursday, September 19, 2019, at his residence.
Mr. Evans was born July 8, 1953, in Thomaston to Mary Frances Evans and the late Harry Norman Evans. He was owner of Royal Trophies in East Point GA and member of Congregational Christian Church in Woodbury GA.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Frances Evans of Thomaston; sister, Melanie Evans of Thomaston; and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Harry Norman Evans.

Mrs. Mary Sally Wood Hamby age 92 of Thomaston Ga, died Tuesday September 17, 2019 at Riverside Health and Rehab.
Mrs. Hamby was born on January 28, 1927 in Telfair County Ga, to the late Raymond Thomas Wood and the late Maggie McCrakin Wood. She worked for the William Carter Company for many years and later worked for the Thomaston Times. Mrs. Hamby was a member of Thomaston First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Virgil Hamby, brother Escholl Wood and grandchild April Manus.
Survivors include her daughter Kathy Lynn Hamby of Jacksonville Fl, sons Gary (Charlene) Hamby of Thomaston Ga, David (Georgia) Hamby of Thomaston Ga, Danny (Sallie) Hamby of Byron Ca, Don (Jackie) Hamby of Cornelia Ga, brother Curtis (Barbara) Wood of Hazelhurst Ga, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.

MR. JAMES FRANKLIN COKER

Mr. James Franklin "Frankie" Coker, age 79, of Thomaston, died Thursday, September 12, 2019, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.
Mr. Coker was born November 13, 1939, in Thomaston to the late Clayton M. and Lucinda Watson Coker. He was a retired Civil Service Electronics Technician, Graduate of R.E. Lee, Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, served in Vietnam as a civilian, and member of Smyrna Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sharyn Coker of Thomaston; daughters, Jacqui Coker of Tampa FL, Sherry Lovett of Val Rico FL, Mercedes (Andrew) White of Yatesville GA, and Kristy Coker of Largo FL; sons, Steve (Julie) Coker of Val Rico FL, Lance (Carrie Woolford) Coker of Clarksburg WV, and Greggory Coker of Thomaston; sister, Edna Coker of Thomaston; brother, Andrew (Barbara) Coker of Thomaston; 6 grandchildren; and best friend "Lucy". He is preceded in death by his grandchild, Rachel Butts; and several sisters and brothers.

MR. JAMES GARY WALKER

Mr. James Gary Walker, age 83, of Thomaston, died Sunday, September 15, 2019, at his residence in Thomaston.
Mr. Walker was born September 5, 1936, in Thomaston to the late John Will Walker and Nell Blount Walker. He retired form the B.F. Goodrich's Martha Mills as a Fixer with over 25 years of service, a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and life long member and Deacon of Emory's Chapel Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Irene Walker; daughter, Debra Jean Williams, and his parents, John Will and Nell Blount Walker. Survivors are his sons, James "Danny" (Cassie) Walker and Jerry Alan (Jo Ann) Walker both of Thomaston; sisters, Peggy Strange of Thomaston and Diane Cook of Perry FL; brother, Harry Walker of Byron GA; and grandchild, Jessie Daniel Walker.

Mrs. Hobbs, was born August 2, 1968, in Ft. Valley GA to Mildred Katherine Hobbs and the late Tommy Joe Hobbs. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
She is survived by her mother, Mildred Hobbs; daughters, Dee (Cody) Bridges and Doris Nicole Hobbs both of Thomaston; sisters, Debbie (Jay) Gatliff of Byron, Joy Johnson Jackson, and Judy Lichtenstein both of Florida; grandchild, Austyn Bridges; nieces and nephews, Jessica (Tim) Binkowsky, Zachary Gatliff, Katelyn Gatliff, Mikayla Binkowsky, Katie Binkowsky, Diago Binkowsky, and Dezie Binkowsky.

She is preceded in death by her parents, E.W. and Mary Sue Boyt.
