MR .KENNETH HOWARD REEVES

Mr. Kenneth Howard Reeves, age 76, of Thomaston died Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at his residence. 

Mr. Reeves was born in Thomaston to the late Eustace Hoke and Bessie Brown Reeves. He retired from Georgia Department of Transportation as Traffic Operations Engineer, was a Veteran of the Georgia National Guard, and member of Clark's Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Shelby Reeves, brothers Earl Reeves, Larry Reeves, sister Maxine Sollenberger.

Survivors include his daughter Alyson (Gunner) Winston of Los Angeles CA, son Kevin Reeves of Thomaston GA, sister Mary Nell Reeves of Thomaston GA, 2 grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday November 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from Mountain View Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Thursday November 29, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

MR. BOBBY FRED EDMONDSON

Mr. Bobby Fred Edmondson, age 84, of Thomaston died Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at his residence.

He had been married to his wife, Helen Edmondson for 63 years this past June. She preceded him in death. He was Owner/Operator of Edmondson's Heating and Air Conditioning Service, member and deacon of Northside Baptist Church.

Mr. Edmondson is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Carey Ellerbee. He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Ellerbee; sons, Neal (Kay) Edmondson and Baxter (Trisa) Edmondson; grandchildren, Jason Edmondson, Adam Edmondson, Nick Hemby, Casey Ellerbee, Carson Ellerbee, Kris Edmondson, and Kelly Teal; great-grandchildren, Lindsey & Cooper Edmondson, Avery Edmondson, Nash Hemby, Kyia Ellerbee, Jaci Taylor, Charlee Kate Ellerbee, Emilee Reese Ellerbee, Jaxson & Jasper Teal, David, Rebecca & Turner McConnell.

Funeral services for Mr. Edmondson will be held Thursday, November 29, 2018, at 6:30 PM in the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 29, 2018, form 5:00 - 6:30 PM.

MRS. DEBORAH KAYE BLACKSTON

Mrs. Deborah Kaye Blackston, 62 of Thomaston died November 26, 2018 at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Blackston was born on September 2, 1956 in Butler Ga, to the late John Blackston and the late Dorothy Kate Blackston. She worked for the William Carter Company as a shipping supervisor and later worked at Quad Graphics in the finishing department until her retirement. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother David Lamar Hemby.

Survivors include her daughters Kelli Christina Smith of Thomaston Ga, Krystal Dawn Smith of Thomaston Ga, Katie (Luke) Heinrich of Thomaston Ga, brothers Jimmy Hemby of Saint Augustine Fl, Marty Blackston of Lagrange Ga, grandchildren Tyler Keith Page, Karli (Zack) Tyler, Austin Cade Smith, Robert "Bubba" Chunn, Luke Cole Heinrich, Brayden Ray Rathburn, great grandchild Jaxton Cash Tyler.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday November 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Thursday November 29, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

BERTHA RUTH OLIVER

Bertha Ruth Oliver, 87, passed away peacefully at home on August 12, 2018. 

A memorial service will be held Friday December 28, 2018 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends following the service.

She was born in Thomaston, Georgia to the late George and Nellie Mayers Cavander on February 3, 1931. She was also predeceased by her husband, James D. Oliver, Sr. Bertha loved life and spending time with her family, she enjoyed having fun but also loved her personal time reading her books.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving sons, George Oliver and his wife Cindy, and James Oliver Jr. grandchildren, Monica Oliver, Melinda Abinal, Jamie Oliver, and Brandy Oliver, great-grandchildren, Destiny Oliver and Marianne Abinal, and sisters, Betty Mewbourn and Josey Andrews.

MR. TONY LEE DINKINS

Mr. Tony Lee Dinkins age 80 of Thomaston Ga, died Thursday November 22, 2018 at Riverside Health and Rehab. 

A visitation will be held Saturday November 24, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Coggins Funeral Home.
Mr. Dinkins will be buried in Crystal Hill Cemetery.

He was born October 5, 1938 in Upson Co., GA to the late Gaines and Tommie Lee Swank Dinkins. He served in the United States Marine Corp during Vietnam, retired from UGA Experiment Station and is of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his daughter Jan Sollenberger and her husband Mark of Yatesville, brothers, Larry Dinkins and his wife Glenda and Ricky Dinkins and his wife Rosie all of Thomaston, sister, Judy Dinkins of Thomaston, three grandchildren, Jennifer Sollenberger and her husband David, Meagan Beach and her husband (Wesley) and Kelly Blount, seven great-grandchildren, Evan, Bryer, Brylee, Colton, Alice, Chloe and Trey.

MRS. DIANA LYNN WEAVER

Mrs. Diana Lynn Weaver, age 53, of Thomaston Ga, died Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at the Upson Regional Medical Center. 

A memorial service will be held Saturday December 1, 2018  1:00 PM at Smyrna Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. 

Mrs. Weaver was born May 28, 1965, in Thomaston, to James Ernest Daniel and the late Betty Lou Daniel. She was a supervisor for Trophy Ford and attended Smyrna Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Tim Weaver; daughter, Brittany Weaver (Dillon) Coogler; son, David (Amanda) Waddle; sisters, Julie (Randy)Teal, Shelia (Lee) Hancock, and Kay Goodman; brothers, David (Deann) Daniel and Jimmy (Lynn) Daniel; grandchildren, Ella Waddle and Riley Coogler.

The family will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Randy Teal 1161 Atwater Rd. Thomaston, GA 30286.

Mr. Jerry Lee Wilson age 47 of Thomaston Ga, died Friday November 16, 2018 at Piedmont Henry Hospital.

Mr. Wilson was born on April 21, 1971 in Meriwether County Ga, to David Wilson and the late Mary Harris McElmore. He was employed with Berry Plastic where he worked as a technician.

Survivors include his daughter Ashley (Steven Bray) Wilson of Villa Rica Ga, father David (Arlene) Wilson of Warner Robins Ga, brothers Stanley (Karen) Winguard of Pine Mountain Ga, Terry (Lisa) Winguard of Pine Mountain Ga, sisters Mary Katherine (Eddie) Johnson of Thomaston Ga, Linda (Andy) Trotter of Thomaston Ga.

Mrs. Dorothy Driver Folds age 93 of Meansville Ga, died Thursday November 8, 2018 at Harborview Health and Rehab.

Mrs. Folds was born January 22, 1925 in Alabama to the late Clarence D. and Carrie Sharp Driver and was of the the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jay Folds, and sisters, Bobbi Heywood and Colleen White.

Mrs. Folds is survived by her brother, Donald Driver of Thomaston, GA.

MR. CHARLES F. HOLLAND SR.

Mr. Charles F. Holland, Sr., age 82 of Thomaston, GA died Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Piedmont Fayetteville, GA. 

Mr. Holland was born on January 25, 1936 in Oakwood, GA to the late W.A. Holland and Lucille Smith Holland. Mr. Holland served in the United States Army from 1958 until 1960. He worked many years in the trucking industry and retired from Walsh & Associates in Atlanta, GA in 1998. He moved to Thomaston, GA and started living his dream of farming which he did until his death. He loved going to his markets and the people he met there. Mr. Holland was an active member and inactive deacon of Mt. View Baptist Church in Thomaston, GA.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Gilbert Holland of 62 years. He is also survived by his three children Elizabeth Holland-Hutson, Lori (Mark) Kelly and Chuck (Lisa) Holland. He had five grand children Hope (Josh) Morgan, Kelli (Mike) Bero, Kara (Alex) Nelson, Joel Holland and Kelly Holland. He had 4 great grandchildren Faith Morgan, Morgan Nelson, Grace Morgan and Levi Bero. He is also survived by his sister Carolyn (Ray) Edge and his brother Randall (Linda) Long. He has also numerous nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday November 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from Mountain View Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Mountain View Baptist Church on Saturday November 10, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Mrs. Evangeline Hamby Boyt, 78, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, November 6,
2018, at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Hamby
will be held Thursday, November 8, at 1:00 PM, at the Antioch Baptist
Church. Dr. Jeff Morgan will officiate, and burial will follow in Upson
Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening,
November 7, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Those

MRS. BETTY DEEN

Mrs. Agnes Elizabeth "Betty" Deen, age 76, of Thomaston Ga, died Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Riverside Health and Rehab. 

Mrs. Deen was born June 18, 1942, in Wilkes County GA, to the late Charles W. and Lois Anderson Hopkins. She was a teacher and homemaker. She was a member of the 1st Arbor Board for Thomaston, member of the Thomaston First United Methodist Church, served as chairman of the Advent wreath committee as well as the Alter committee of the Thomaston First United Methodist Church. She served for several years as the secretary of the Pine Mountain Trail association, the Tax Assessors Board for Thomaston-Upson County. She was the love of her children and two grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her son, Dr. Byron Floyd Deen, bother, Allan (Connie) Hopkins, and a sister, Joyce (Wilbur) Harper

Survivors are her husband, Dr. Johnny T. Deen; son, Dr. K. Murray (Jessica) Deen; sister, Nelda (Tommy) Reece; brother, David (Gwen) Hopkins; grandchildren, Kenneth Murray Deen Jr., and Jenna Bette Deen.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, November 4, 2018, at 3:00 PM at the Thomaston First United Methodist Church. 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 4, 2018, from 2:00 - 3:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Thomaston First United Methodist Church.

MRS. OUIDA DEANNA QUIGLEY

Mrs. Ouida Deanna Quigley, 72 of Meansville died October 31, 2018 at Upson Regional Hospital. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Thomaston First United Methodist Church on Saturday November 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.

Mrs. Quigley was born November 14, 1945 in Macon, GA to the late John Brannon and Ouida Louise Eden Hammonds.
She was a member of Thomaston First United Methodist Church and will always be remembered by the love she gave to her husband, children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Edgar "Ed" Quigley of Meansville, daughters, Joy Campbell of Simpsonville, SC, Kelly Bohannon and her husband Chad of LaGrange, GA, sisters, Patricia Miller of Griffin and Cherita Jones of McDonough, grandchildren, Grace Summers, Madelyn Summers, Blake Bohannon, Kalyb Bohannon and Kai Bohannon.

MR. WILLIAM BENJAMIN GRAY

Mr. William Benjamin Gray, age 81, of Yatesville, died Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at his residence.

Mr. Gray was born March 15, 1937, in Upson County to the late William Eldridge and Nancy Turner Gray. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as Operations Manager, was a member of King's Chapel Baptist Church, and U.S. Army Reserve Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Gray; daughter, Toni (Clark) Spence; son, William Joseph (Glenda) Gray; sisters, Barbara (Richard) Tyson, and Connie (A.C.) Kile; sister-in-law, Linia Gray; grandchildren, Holly Gentry, Michael Gentry, Joshua (Joni) Gray, and Benjamin Gray. He is preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Gray.
