MRS. CHARLENE PERDUE HAMBY

 Mrs. Charlene Perdue Hamby, age 71, went to be with the Lord October 28,

2020 at her residence.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hamby will be held Saturday, October 31, 2020 at
3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Barber and Rev. Judd
Greer officiating.  Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.  The family
will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM.
Mrs. Hamby was born on August 8, 1949.  She was adopted by Ted and Mary
Perdue on June 18, 1950, to whom she brought much joy and many blessings.
She was a graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and attending Gulf Park College
and Virginia Intermont.  She was employed by the Upson County Board of
Education for 25 years.  She worked at Rock Hill School and Upson Lee North
Elementary School as a para pro in Special Education and Kindergarten.
Mrs. Hamby was a life-long member of First Baptist Church.  She was
passionate about her family, cooking (especially for others), and her pets.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ted Perdue, and brother, Sife
Perdue.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Gary Hamby; her mother, Mary
Perdue; her son, Ed Hamby; her daughter Maria (Rodney) Salter; four
grandchildren, Cody (Alex) Salter, Shyanne Salter, Holly Hamby and Ridge
Hamby; and one great grandson, Caiden Salter.

MATTHEW ALAN FOWLER

 Matthew Alan Fowler, age 35, of Thomaston, died Monday, October 26, 2020 at Upson Regioanl Medical Center.


Matthew was born, June 26, 1985 to Steven Fowler Sr. and Carolyn Elliott Adams in Fauquire County, Virginia.  He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Elliott, and paternal grandfather, Douglas Fowler.


Survivors include his parents, stepfather, Kenneth Adams, brothers, Steven Fowler Jr., Dusty Fowler, maternal grandmother, Sarah Raybon, and paternal grandmother, Lilly Stoner.


Memorial services will be held by the family and announced at a later date.

MRS. MARGARETE LUCKERT MANN

 Mrs. Margarete Luckert Mann, age 92, of Thomaston, died Monday, October 19, 2020.

Mrs. Mann was born on September 5, 1928 in Neuberg, Germany, to the late Johannes Luckert, and the late Helena Best Luckert.  She worked as a beautician and was a member of High Shoals Primitive Baptist Church.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul Roger Mann Sr., and two sisters.

Survivors include her daughters, Rebecca (Harry) Hanson of Waynesboro, VA, JoAnn Willson of Lexington, VA, son, Roger (Karen) Mann of Thomaston, sisters, Elsa Schmidt of Sana Rosa CA, Hildegard Doell of Scheidegg, Germany, grandchildren, Jason (Krissy) Mann, Nathan (Crystal) Mann, great-grandchildren, Marlie Mann, Stella Mann, Julian Mann, Kelbi Mann, and Mabri Mann.

DR. J.B.TEAL

 Dr. J.B. Teal, age 77, of Thomaston, died, Monday October 19, 2020 at his residence.

Dr. Teal was born on March 24, 1943 in Upson County, to the late William Arnold Teal and the late Addie Lou Phelps Teal.  He was the Associate Pastor at Northside Baptist Church.  He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, William Franklin Teal, Brewest Alton Teal, James Edward Teal, sisters, Elsie Pugh, Mary Sunday, Jewell Cox, Lois Mathis, and Joyce Lewis.

Survivors include his wife, Willene Vickery Teal, daughters, Sonya (James Jones) Hand of Thomaston, Cynthia (Miles) Williams of Panama City Beach, FL, Mandy (Larry) Hull of Milton, FL, son, Nathan (Amber Chronister) Teal of Thomaston, brother, Louie (Fara) Teal of Thomaston, sister, Yvonne (Doug) Pilcher of New Orleans, LA, sixteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. from Northside Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Crystal Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.

MR. DONALD CAUTHEN

 Mr. Donald Cauthen age 83 of Thomaston Ga, died Friday October 16, 2020 at Providence Healthcare.

Mr. Cauthen was born on June 24, 1937 in Lamar County Ga, to the late Hoyt Leonard Cauthen and the late Lucille Cook Cauthen. He worked as a hardwood floor installer for many years.

Survivors include his wife Mrs. Betty Cauthen of Thomaston Ga, brother Mr. Leonard Murle (Louise) Cauthen of Milner Ga.

Graveside Services will be held on Sunday October 18, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. in Southview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Sunday October 18, 2020 from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

MRS. AUDREY MCCARD BOONE

Mrs. Audrey McCard Boone age 90 of Thomaston Ga, died Thursday October 15, 2020 at Riverside Health and Rehab. Mrs. Boone was born on December 14, 1929 in East Thomaston Ga, to the late George F. Amos Sr. and the late Syvie Joiner Amos. She worked as a Registered Nurse with Kelloggs (Sunshine Biscuits). Mrs. Boone was a long time resident of Thomaston Ga, before moving to Columbus Ga. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Marvin H. McCard, daughter Sandra McCard Hicks, 4 sisters and 5 brothers, and special friend while in assisted living Mr. Harold Bryars. Survivors include her son Dennis (Carol) McCard, grandchildren Lisa Waters, Christopher McCard, Amanda M. Williams, Amy Helms, 2 great grandsons, 5 great granddaughters, 4 great great grandchildren, nephew Randy (Esther) Waller, niece Joanne (James) Sanders, great niece Kathy (Russell) Mullis, numerous other nieces and nephews also survive, a very longtime friend Marvin Helms. Graveside Services will be held on Sunday October 18, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in Upson Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Vera Jeanette Reeves, age 79, of Meansville, died Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Brightmoor Hospice. Mrs. Reeves was born on April 7, 1941 in Telfair County, GA to the late C.W. Brown and the late Vera Lillis Spires Sandefur. She retired from Belk and was a member of Rehoboth Church of the Nazarene. She is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Wayne Reeves, son, Michael (Rayeann) Reeves, brother, Wayne (Margaret) Sandefur, sister, Ann Hudgins, grandchildren, Ashley Smith, Ryan Reeves, great-grandchildren, Mason Smith , Carley Smith, Aubree Reeves. MRS. HAZEL SMITH ELLIOTT

Mrs. Hazel Smith Elliott age 89 of Thomaston Ga, passed away Sunday October 4, 2020 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin. Mrs. Elliott was born on June 21, 1931 in Pike County Georgia to the late Earnest Brantley Smith and the late Cora Lee Hurd Smith. She graduated from Zebulon High School in 1948. Mrs. Elliot worked as a supervisor for Lanier Electronics until her retirement. She was a member of Twin Oaks Baptist Tabernacle. Mrs. Elliott was an avid gardener, homemaker, and church worker. She loved her kids, grand kids and church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Jackson Elliott, brothers Morris Eugene Smith, Henry Lawrence Smith, Jarvice Benard Smith, Earnest Brantley Smith Jr., Leslie Smith. MR. ANDY ELLINGTON

 Mr. Andy Ellington of Molena Ga, passed away Wednesday September 30, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Ellington was born in Upson County, GA on December 21, 1959, to Robert James Ellington and the late Bessie Lou Perkins Ellington.  He retired from Blue Bird after 20 years and was a member of Northside Baptist Church.  He preceded in death by his mother, wife, Toni Spillers Ellington, and a grandchild, Keni Dale Ellington Johnson.

Survivors include his father, James Ellington, daughter, Lacey (James Eric) Ellis, and grandchildren, Serenity, Georgia, and Deacon.

A joint memorial service will held for Toni and Andy Ellington on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from Northside Baptist Church.
