Mrs. Brigman was born on April 22, 1948 in Thomaston Ga, to the late Grady and Estelle McDaniel. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter Mrs. Jeanine (Jeff) Taylor of Thomaston Ga, grandchildren Hayley Taylor, Crystal Taylor, Logan Taylor all of Thomaston Ga.

Mrs. Alletha Bailey Loyd, age 92, of Zebulon, passed away May 24, 2015.
Mrs. Loyd was born on April 5, 1923, in DeKalb County, daughter of the late Coleman Bailey and the late Ruth Veal Bailey. She worked with the Atlanta Credit Union for 27 years. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, housekeeping, and yard work. She was a member of Meansville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Leonard Loyd.
Survivors include her sons and daughters in law, David Larry Loyd of Zebulon, Jerry and Becky Loyd of Atlanta, Bill and Linda Loyd of Douglasville; 9 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Rev. John Blackmon officiating. Burial will follow in Fincher Memorial Cemetery. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Peggy Murdy of Barnesville Georgia and formally of Midland Michigan passed away on Monday May 18,2015. From complications due to Alzheimer’s. Peggy was born on September 19, 1923 in Hinsdale New Hampshire and was the adopted daughter of Arthur and Blanche Joslyn. In the early 1930’s Peggy was a part of a Vaudeville Tap Dancing trio called the “Three Lil Tykes” They toured all over New England playing in Vaudeville houses before World War II. During the war Peggy was a back up singer for the Western Group, “Sons of the Pioneers”. After the war, she became a Commercial Artist working mostly for Movie Theatre Houses in Keen and Newport New Hampshire for the Latches Theatre Chain where she would make Movie Poster Lobby Cards for the Up coming attractions. After she met her husband, Joe Murdy she then became a house wife.
In the 1960’s the Murdy family moved to Midland Michigan and after 30 years then moved to Barnesville Georgia.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Blanche Joslyn. Her husband J.W. Murdy and her Daughter Judith Fowler and her sons Jerry Murdy and Alan Murdy. Her survivors include her Daughter Joanne Struthers of Pt. St. Lucie Florida, her step son John Murdy of Powder Springs Georgia and her Son Bob Murdy of Hollywood California. And numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
In her later life, Peggy enjoyed doing Cross Word Puzzles, Water Color Painting and Needle Point.
She will be buried next to her husband in the Greenwood Cemetery. Per her request there will be no funeral services. There will be a prayer service at the grave site at a later date. In place of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s foundation in her name atwww.alz.org

Mrs. Haygood was born on July 24, 1940 in Thomaston Ga, to the late Harvey and Mathie Mae Fossett. She worked as an instructor with the Thomaton Upson Gilmore Center. Mrs. Haygood was a member of Zion's Chapel Methodist Church.

Mr. George W. Parker, 83, of Thomaston, died Saturday, May 9th, 2015 at Providence Health and Rehab.
Funeral services for Mr. Parker will be held on Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Parker was a native of Piedmont, Al, born on November 12, 1931. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1950 until 1966. He was a prisoner of war during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Parker lived in Texas for many years and was a construction inspector the Texas Department of Transportation. While in Texas he attended the Pathway of Life Church.
Mr. Parker is survived by three step-daughters, Patsy (James) Meeks of Thomaston, Darlene (Jim) Squires of Granberry, TX and Patricia (Gary) Watts of Newborn; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara S. Parker.

Mrs. Crews was born on July 27, 1948 in Bakersville N.C., to the late Johnny and Nell Street. She was a 1966 graduate of Cranberry High School in Elk Park, N.C. Mrs. Crews was named Mrs. Cranberry High in 1966. She was employed with Upson EMC for 26 years until her retirement.

PIZZA DELIVERY CAR STOLEN AT URMC
THOMASTON POLICE ARRESTED A BLACK MALE SUSPECT FOR GRABBING THE KEYS FROM A PIZZA DELIVERY MAN WHO HAD AN ORDER FROM NURSES AT THE HOSPITAL.
THE SUSPECT LEFT THE SCENE IN THE CAR AND WAS STOPPED ON BARNESVILLE STREET AND TRIED TO STAB AN UPSON COUNTY DEPUTY WITH A BUTTER KNIFE.
THE DEPUTY WAS NOT HURT.
