MR. ROY RAYMOND MCNELLY SR.

Mr. Roy Raymond McNelly, Sr., age 59, of Thomaston, died April 27, 2017, at Emory Hospital Midtown. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

MR. JAMES HUTTO

Mr. James Hutto, age 88, of Thomaston Ga, died Thursday, April 27,2017, at his residence. 

Mr. Hutto was born July 19, 1928, in Forsyth GA, to the late James J. and Clyde Roxie Hutto. He was an ironworker with Holan Corp, and member of the Georgia National Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Hutto; daughter, Debra (Randy) Johnson of Thomaston; son, James A "Jim" Hutto of Macon; granddaughter, Amanda Johnson; and 3 great-grandchildren, Alexia Johnson, Jacob Johnson and Landen Johnson.

Memorial services for Mr. Hutto will be held by his family at a later date.

MRS. THELMA LORENE PARK BOW

Mrs. Thelma "Lorene" Parker Bow, age 87, of Molena Ga, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at her residence. 

Mrs. Bow was born January 1, 1930, to the late Alton Braxton and Thelma Parker. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra K. (Don) Morris of Perryville MD, Deborah (Mayne) Gooden of Molena, Carol Ann Bow, and Clara Lee (Joe) Lisi of Redlands CA; and sister, Iris Stanley of New York; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral Arrangements will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 29, 2017, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Coggins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 3133 Crest Hwy, Thomaston GA 30286.

MR. GEORGE RUFF JR.

A memorial service for George Washington Ruff, Jr., age 91 of Thomaston will be held on Tuesday, April 25th, 2016, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at The First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Barber officiating. His family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the service hour.
Mr. Ruff died April 23, 2017. His cremains were interred at a private ceremony.
Mr. Ruff was born in Rome, Ga. May 18th, 1925. He was the son of the late George W. Ruff, Sr. & Mary Lou Gloer Ruff. His widow, Anne Stevens Ruff, whom he married in 1950, survives him. His three children also survive: John Thomas Ruff and his wife, Patricia, of Atlanta, George Stevens Ruff and his wife, Jackie, of Meansville, and Mary Elizabeth Mendenhall and her husband, Mark, of Williamson. Four grandchildren, Eric T. Ruff, Steve Ruff, Kathryn Ruff, and Julia Ruff; and a great-grandson, Theo Ruff, also survive.
Mr. Ruff graduated from Boys High School, Rome, Ga. in 1942 and immediately went to work as a clerk at the Navy Yard Disbursing Office at Charleston, SC. In May, 1943, prior to his 18th birthday he joined the U.S. Navy. During the War he worked in the Navy's disbursing office at the Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida, which at that time handled over 10,000 enlisted men's pay accounts. He was discharged on his 21st birthday in May, 1946 as Petty Officer 1st Class (Disbursing Clerk).
Following military service he continued his education on the GI Bill and was graduated from Emory University's Business School with a degree in Finance and Accounting. While Mr. Ruff was at Emory he worked week-end shifts at the Emory University Hospital's admitting office. This is where he met his wife, Anne.
He began his business career at Celanese Corp. of America in his hometown, Rome, Ga. While working as an accountant at Celanese he taught part-time accounting courses at the Off Campus Center of the University of Georgia in Rome. In 1955 he was promoted to Chief Cost Accountant and transferred to Celanese's Celco Plant at Pearisburg, Virginia.
In May 1957 he was contacted by a representative from Martha Mills and shortly thereafter he was employed by B. F. Goodrich's Martha Mills plant as an accountant. Mr. Ruff continued his career with Martha Mills for 30 years and retired in December, 1987, after B. F. Goodrich and Uniroyal formed a joint venture.
While at Martha Mills he was promoted to the position of Controller of the Textile Division of the B. F. Goodrich Co. (which at that time operated two textile plants with annual sales in excess of $176 million). During his career with B. F. Goodrich Mr. Ruff was active in the tax affairs of the Georgia Textile Manufacturing Association and served for many years as Chairman of its Tax Committee.
Mr. Ruff has served as a board member of the Thomaston and Upson County Chamber of Commerce, as an active member of the Thomaston Kiwanis Club for over 50 years serving as president (Oct. 1977 - Sept. 1978), and a past president of the United Way of Thomaston. He also taught business and accounting courses in Thomaston for the off campus center of the University of Georgia at Columbus and for the Thomaston Upson County Vocational Technical School.
After retiring from Martha Mills on 12/31/1987, Mr. Ruff joined Flint River Technical Institute in 1988 as Vice President of Administrative Services and served in that capacity until 1997 when he retired at age 72. During that time he was greatly involved with the remarkable growth and expansion of Flint Tech (which is now known as Southern Crescent Technical College).
Mr. Ruff served for several years as Finance Committee chairman and deacon of the First Baptist Church.
George Ruff enjoyed traveling, woodworking, ham radio, his computer and IPad, bicycling, gardening, and yard work.

MRS. ELIZABETH EDWARDS GREEN

Mrs. Elizabeth Edwards Green age 71 of Thomaston Ga, died Sunday April 23, 2017 at her residence. 

Mrs. Green was born on May 21, 1945 in Atlanta Ga, to the late James and Jessie Barron Edwards. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Green was a member of Thomaston First Assembly of God.

She is survived by her son Mr. Randy Green of Thomaston Ga, and 1 grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday April 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Tuesday April 25, 2017 from 5-7 p.m.

Mr. Thomas Whitmore age 64 died Saturday April 22, 2017 at his residence.

MRS. NANCY DARNELL MCWATERS MARSH

Mrs. Nancy Darnell Mcwaters Marsh age 73 of Thomaston Ga, died Thursday April 20, 2017 at Brightmoor Hospice. 

Mrs. Marsh was born on August 29, 1943 in Thomaston Ga, to the late Trellis McWaters and the late Ethel Watson McWaters. She worked in the textile industry as an inspector for many years. Mrs. Marsh was a member of Clark's Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters Mrs. Nancy (Roger) Smith of Thomaston Ga, Ms. Bonnie Russell of Thomaston Ga, Ms. Angela Hilton of Thomaston Ga, brother Mr. George McWaters of Thomaston Ga, sister Mrs. Barbara Burgan of Thomaston Ga, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday April 22, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Saturday April 22, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

MR. DAN TIMOTHY CREAMER

Mr. Dan Timothy "Tim" Creamer age 59 of Griffin Ga, formerly of Thomaston Ga, died Tuesday April 11, 2017 at his residence. 

Mr. Creamer was born on August 2, 1957 in Thomaston Ga, to the late Willis L. Creamer Sr. and the late Clara Hay Creamer. He worked as a truck driver instructor for many years. Mr. Creamer was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Mrs. Sherry Creamer of Griffin Ga, sons Mr. Timothy Daniel Creamer of Duluth Ga, Mr. Andrew Lee Creamer of Griffin Ga, brother Mr. Willis Creamer Jr. of Thomaston Ga, sisters Mrs. Glenda (Tommy) Watkins of Toomsboro Ga, Mrs. Betty Ann Allen of Thomaston Ga, Mrs. Pamela Pollard of Thomaston Ga, grandchildren Allie Grace Creamer and Emily Brooke Creamer.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 15, 2017, from 1:00 - 2:00 PM.

MRS. NELL HAYES EUBANKS

Mrs. Nell Hayes Eubanks, 83, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, April 12th, 2017 at Riverside Health and Rehab. 
Funeral services for Mrs. Eubanks will be held on Friday, April 14th, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the East Thomaston Baptist Church. Rev. Joey Smith will officiate and burial will follow in South View Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Eubanks will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. 
Mrs. Eubanks was born in Upson County on December 3rd, 1933, a daughter of the late William Kirksley and Mary Elizabeth Deloatch Hayes. She was a sales clerk at Northside Drugs for many years. 
Mrs. Eubanks was a member of East Thomaston Baptist Church.
Mrs. Eubanks is survived by her husband, Thomas R. Eubanks; a daughter, Dianne (Steve) Wainwright of Thomaston; two sons, David (Sheri) Eubanks of Molena and Tommy (Neena) Eubanks of Concord; two sisters, Rhunette Ellington and Betty Austin, both of Thomaston; eleven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
