MR. JAMES STEVEN "BO" COLLUM JR.

Mr. James Steven "Bo" Collum Jr. age 52 of Thomaston Ga, passed away Wednesday May 27, 2020 at Upson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Collum was born on April 21, 1968 in Thomaston Ga, to Suzanne Clay Presley and the late James Steven "Peanut" Collum Sr. He worked as a paramedic for Grady Health for many years and also worked as a Registered Nurse for Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Mr. Collum was currently studying for his BSN in nursing at Western Governors University. He is preceded in death by his father James Steven "Peanut" Collum Sr., brother Clay Collum, maternal grandparents J.C. & Mary Jo Clay, paternal grandparents Charlie & Mildred Collum.
Survivors include his mother Susie Presley of Thomaston Ga, sister Lisa Caraway of Thomaston Ga, nephew Sammy Caraway of Thomaston Ga, niece Erica Caraway of Thomaston Ga, many aunts and uncles also survive.
The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Saturday May 30, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

DONNA FAYE MCEACHERON GALLINGER

Donna Faye McEacheron Gallinger, 61, residing in Thomaston, GA, died Wednesday May 27, 2020, at home following a lengthy struggle with cancer.
Donna was born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 24, 1959, third child of Aubrey B and Esther Fay Huffman McEachern.
Donna graduated from Terry Parker High School in 1977.
Donna was employed for several years by Johnson & Johnson Vision in Jacksonville making and inspecting contact lenses.  Donna married Robert Gallinger in 1982.
After her marriage, Donna for many years operated a day care business from her home, during which time she established and maintained lifelong, loving relationships with many of "her" children and their parents.
Donna is survived by her father, Aubrey B. McEachern of Thomaston, husband, Robert Gallinger of Jacksonville, FL, three children, Rachel Gallinger Thompson (Lonnie), Sarah Gallinger, and Matthew Gallinger, all of Jacksonville, brother, Aubrey B. McEachern III (Kimberly) of Melbourne, FL, sister, Mary Susan McEachern of Thomaston, brother, Patrick F McEachern (Debbie) of Dunnellon, FL, granddaughter Avery and grandson, Caleb Thompson of Jacksonville, and numerous nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, and grand-nieces.  Donna is also survived by her very special friend William "Bill" Voss of Thomaston, GA.
Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Fay.
Donna had a great many furred and finned pets over the years, too numerous to list in their entirety.  Donna would want us to especially remember her beloved Cole the Cat (who lived to the ripe old age of 22), and her surviving friends Griff Betta Fish, who calmed and soothed Donna with his stoic presence everyday during her months of illness, the amazing 17-year-old, Gizmo Rabbit, and Matlida "Tilly" the Cat, faithful, loving companion at the time of her passing.
At Donna's request, her remains will be cremated and scattered in the Atlantic Ocean waters of her much loved Jacksonville Beaches, following a life celebration which will be announced for a later date due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or www.cancer.org.

MR. TONY WESLEY TEAL

Mr. Tony Wesley Teal, age 30, formerly of Thomaston, died Sunday, May 24, 2020, in Jackson Georgia.
Mr. Teal was born, July 14, 1989, in Upson County, to William Mark Teal and Lisa Ann Bass Teal.  He was self-employed as a mechanic and was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his parents, William Mark Teal and Lisa Ann Bass Teal, brother, Mark Dwayne Teal (Brandy Raybon), nieces, Dallas Teal, LeeAnn Woolf, numerous aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends on Friday May 29, 2020 from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the need to maintain social distancing the visitation will be held outside under the portico.

Joseph Clark Homman, age 27, of Thomaston, died Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Joseph was born October 16, 1992, in Thomaston, GA, to William Joseph Homman and Pamela Clark Homman. He worked for Wilburn Engineering as a Lineman and was of the Catholic Faith.

Survivors include his parents, fiance', Carrie Jane Marrero, son on the way, Jackson Clark Homman, brothers, Jasper Homman of North Little Rock, AR, Jacon Homman of Wedowee AL, Brandon Lindsey of North Little Rock, AR, Sean Lindsay of Clarkesville, TN, sisters, Katherine Homman of Thomaston, Harley Wilson of Thomaston, maternal grandmother, Katherine Nipp of Thomaston, paternal grandparents, Paul and Claudia Homman of Council Grove, KS, nieces, Brayleigh Piper, Kaylei Homman, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

MRS. PEGGY MAE ELLIS MORGAN

Mrs. Peggy Mae Ellis Morgan, 87, of Thomaston, died Monday, May 25, 2020 at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Morgan was born on January 7, 1933 in Emanuel County. She began working at the age of 15 and spent her life as a hairdresser. At the time of her death she was the owner and operator of Peggy's Salon. She was called on countless times during her career by Fletcher-Day Funeral Home to style hair. Hair styling was her ministry as she went to many nursing homes to perform hair styling services.

Mrs. Morgan was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the church choir and served as a Sunday School teacher for the two-year-old class for over 30 years.

Mrs. Morgan is survived by her nieces, Sandra (Jimmy) Fender and Sonia (Billy) McElhenney, both of Thomaston; a great niece, Heather (Brian) Lovejoy of Thomaston; and a great niece and great nephew, Autumn and Austin Lovejoy. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Morgan, her brother, Benny Ellis, and a great niece, Allison McElhenney.

MRS. MARY NELL CHASTAIN

Mrs. Mary Nell Chastain, 83 of Thomaston, GA died Friday May 22, 2020 in Thomaston.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at 11:00 AM in Crystal Hill Cemetery. Dr. Rex King Officiating.

Mrs. Chastain was born July 22, 1936 in Athens, GA to the late Henry Edward and Reba Garrison Wood. She was a graduate of Clarke County High School in Athens. Mrs. Chastain was retired from Virginia Well Company serving as secretary since 1953. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ellis William Chastain.

Survivors include her daughter, Patti Chastain of Clearwater, FL, sons, Randy Chastain, and his wife Shelley of Thomaston and Eddie Chastain and his wife Hannah of Thomaston and three grandchildren, Emily Chastain, River Chastain, and Tanner Shirah.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service.

MR. GEORGE NEAL WATSON

Mr. George Neal Watson, 55 of Fayetteville, GA died May 23, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Watson was born, January 2, 1965, Thomaston, to the late George Southern Watson Jr. and Linda Coker Watson. He was self-employed. He is preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Linda Watson of Fayetteville, GA, son, Drew Watson of Fayetteville, GA, and sister, Michelle Tillman of Fayetteville, GA.

Mr. Watson's wishes were to be cremated.

MR. JAMES FRANKLIN CONKLE

Mr. James Franklin "Junebug" Conkle, 71, of Milledgeville, died Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Navicent Health in Macon.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM in Pine Mountain Church of the Nazarene. 

The family may be contacted at the residence of his son at 412 Bypass Rd. Barnesville.

Mr. Conkle was born in Spalding county to the late Henry & Mildred Conkle.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his granddaughter, Bridget Redding, and grandson Noah Conkle.

Mr. Conkle is survived by his daughter, Christina Conkle of Pike County; son, Jeffery (Melissa) Conkle of Barnesville; and four grandchildren, Sierra Alyssa Conkle, Simon Conkle, Cheyenne Conkle, and Dakota Conkle.

MR. JOE GENTRY MCKAUGHAN

Mr. Joe Gentry McKaughan age 78 of Griffin Ga, died Friday May 15, 2020 at Brightmoor Hospice.

Mr. McKaughan was born on February 12, 1942 in Griffin Ga, to the late Duke McKaughan and the late Ruth Taylor McKaughan. He was formerly employed with the Lincoln Center of Performing Arts in New York where he worked as the Vice President of Public Affairs for 30 years. Mr. McKaughan was a member of Griffin First United Methodist Church and a member of the Main Street Players Theatrical Group. 

Joe was preceded in death by his close friend of 46 years Joseph Jackson. He was a tremendous supporter of all the arts organizations in our community. Also, he was always so enthusiastic about the good that was happening in Griffin and was actively involved when he returned to Griffin after retiring from Lincoln Center. He always had a smile and when he talked with you he made you feel good .

Joe is survived by a host of cousins.
The family will have a private graveside service.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the family will have a celebration of life service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Main Street Players Theatrical Group at P.O. Box 1945 Griffin Ga. 30224.

MR. WALTER HUNT PEACOCK JR.

Mr. Walter Hunt Peacock, Jr., age 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 5, 2020. He was the beloved husband of the late Willie Henderson Peacock for 44 years at the time of her death in 1996. Mr. Peacock, a lifelong resident of Thomaston, Ga., was the son of the late Walter Hunt Peacock, Sr. and Sylvia Scoles Peacock.

He graduated from Robert E Lee High School in 1946 and North Georgia College in 1950 where he was a member of the tennis and basketball teams. He served his country as a captain in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Walter was employed by Thomaston Mills for 38 years when he retired from management in 1992. He was a member and past president of the Kiwanis Club. He also served on the Thomaston Housing Authority and enjoyed his Investment Club. He drove patients in the local cancer car across the state of Georgia for treatments for many years. Mr. Peacock was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing tennis and golf.

Walter was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Thomaston. He served the church in multiple roles and committees while teaching many Sunday School classes over the years. Sonny was a loving brother, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed. 

He is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Gloria Peacock Ormand (Summerville, SC) and Georgia Peacock Wilson (Holly Hill, SC); his two sons: Walter Hunt Peacock, III (Terry) of Valdosta, Ga. and Richard Henderson Peacock (Angelyn) of Augusta, Ga.; and his four grandchildren: Kathryn Peacock Jones (Kevin), Kemper Peacock Harrison (Charlie), Georgia Dean Thomson, and Cameron Thomson.

In consideration of the current Coronavirus threat, the family will hold a graveside service at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 8, 2020 at Southview Cemetery, Thomaston, Ga. with Reverend John F. Dallas officiating.

If so desired, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 707, Thomaston, Ga. 30286.

MRS. JOHNNIE MAE WALKER BLANKENSHIP

Mrs. Johnnie Mae Walker Blankenship, 88, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Providence Health Care.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Blankenship will be held on Friday, May 8, 2020 at 4:00 PM in South View Cemetery with Rev. Judson Barnes officiating.

Mrs. Blankenship was born in the Pike County town of Molena on July 26, 1931, a daughter of the late James and Maggie Mae Creamer Walker. She was employed as a sewing machine operator for the William Carter Company and retired in 1993 after 35 years of service.

Mrs. Blankenship was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Denise B. Lewis of Gainesville; her son, Kenneth W. (Kathy) Blankenship of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren, Morgan Leigh Ruppe of Alpharetta, Kevin (Kellie) Rupp of Sugar Hill, Ashley Robb of Marietta, and Amber Blankenship of Roswell; and five great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Reginald "Jimmy" Blankenship.

MR. ROBERT ENGLAND "BOB" JOHNSON

Mr. Robert England "Bob" Johnson age 72 of Thomaston Ga, died Sunday May 3, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Johnson was born October 30, 1947, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Thomas Clinton Johnson Sr. and the late Ida England Johnson. He worked as a Human Resources Manager at Wes Tek. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Brenda Johnson, daughter, Laura Johnson Dean and son-in-law, Marc Manning.

Survivors include, his daughters, Beth (Lamar) Marchman, Sarah Manning, brother, Tommy (Cindy) Johnson of Richmond, VA, sister, Melvina (Larry) Davies of Fredericksburg, VA, and grandchildren, Gage Marchman, Wyatt Marchman, and Anna Claire Dean.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday May 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in Crystal Hill Cemetery.
