MRS. MARGARET ELANE COCHRAN KILLINGSWORTH

Mrs. Margaret Elane Cochran Killingsworth, age 78, of Meansville, Ga passed away on May 27, 2021 at Heritage Inn of Barnesville.

Mrs. Killingsworth was born on January 5, 1943 in Zebulon Ga., to the late Milton Cochran and the late Margaret Williams Cochran. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for many years and was a member of Pine Mountain Church of The Nazarene. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband James Madison Killingsworth and brother Wayne Cochran.

Survivors include her daughters Kathy Killingsworth of Concord Ga., Kim (Terry) Phillips of Meansville Ga., brothers Jimmy (Joyce) Cochran of Orchard Hill Ga., Mickey (Marie) Cochran of Williamson Ga., Billy Cochran of Williamson Ga., grandchildren Ashley (Darrell) Cartin, Jonathan Parrot, great grandchild Grayson Edwards.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday May 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from Pine Mountain Nazarene Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday May 30, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Mrs. Vicki Paramore Sullivan, 84, of Thomaston, died on Thursday, May 27,2021 at her home.

MR. THOMAS EARL MULLING

Mr. Thomas Earl Mulling, 74, of Yatesville, died Sunday, May 23, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin.

Funeral services for Mr. Mulling will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Yatesville Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Yatesville United Methodist Church Cemetery.

MRS. MARIE BLOUNT

Mrs. Marie "Sissy" Blount, age 58, of Thomaston, died Monday, May 24, 2021, at her residence.

Mrs. Blount was born on June 27, 1962 in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Pasquale Dimille, and the late Roslyn Parent Dimille. She worked for the Upson Board of Education and in the cafeteria of Upson-Lee. Sissy was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother Freddie Gilchrist Dimille.

Survivors include her husband. Keith Blount of Thomaston, sons, Kyle (Shannon) Blount of Sharpsburg, Jeremy (Tiffany) Blount of Molena, sister, Kathy Sellars of Thomaston, nephews, Kenny Dimille, Billy Sellars Jr., aunt, Mary Johnston, best friend, Wendy South, grandchildren, Avery Blount, Kamden Kinney, Kaisley Blount, David Forrester, great-grandchildren, Lakyn Forrester, and Adalyn Warrington.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. from Upson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.

MR. ELMORE "JERRY" JEFFERSON WINTERS

Mr. Elmore "Jerry" Jefferson Winters age 71 of Thomaston Ga., passed away Wednesday May 19, 2021 at his residence.

Mr. Winters was born in Upson County, to the late Monroe Jefferson Winters, and the late Velma Pritchett Winters. He was self-employed as a carpenter, and a member of the Morningstar Lodge. Mr. Jerry was a Mason, Shriner, and a Deacon at Northside Baptist Church. He loved the Lord, his sisters, whom he adored, church family, family and his wife of 52 years. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Posey, and Joyce Winters.

Survivors include his wife, Jaquelyn "Jack" Winters of Thomaston, daughter, Gina Winters of Thomaston, son, Shane Winters of Thomaston, sisters, Sylvia Winters (Bill) Chapman of Thomaston, Geraldine Winters Slaughter, grandchildren, Ross Winters, Blake (Deven Thompson) Winters, Daniel Winters, Payton (Justin Waddle) Forbus, Levi Scott, and great-grandchildren, Zander Winters, and Eli Waddle.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Coggins Funeral Home

MR. BIVEN HANCE MCLEOD

Mr. Biven Hance McLeod age 96 of Thomaston Ga., passed away Friday May 14, 2021 at his residence.

Mr. McLeod was born on May 16, 1924 in Telfair County Ga., to the late Dave McLeod and the Ella Strom McLeod. He was formerly employed with Thomaston Mills Bleachery Division where he worked for 42 years. Mr. McLeod was a member of East Thomaston Baptist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Susie McLeod.

Survivors include his daughter Mrs. Elaine (Ronnie) Owen of Molena Ga., son Mr. Mike (Emily) McLeod of Crescent City Fl, grandchildren David (Robin Phillips) Willis, Todd (Jessica) Willis, Chris (Becky) Mulling, 5 great grandchildren.

MR. JAMES FLOYD BENNETT SR.

Mr. James Floyd Bennett Sr. age 71 of Thomaston Ga., passed away Thursday May 13, 2021 at his residence.

Mr. Bennett was born on February 4, 1950, in Pelham, GA., to the late Louie Bennett and Lillian Hampton Thomas. He worked as a carpenter. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, James Bennett Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Bennett, daughters, Mary Ann Morris, Sherry Bennett, Jennifer Phillips, Rhonda Peacock, son, Evan Vaughn, brother, Ronnie (Leigh) Bennett, 15 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

MR. BOBBY LAMAR SALTER

Mr. Bobby Lamar Salter, age 73, of Thomaston, passed away, Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Salter was born in Zebulon on January 25, 1948, to the late Leonard Davis Salter and the late Evelyn Gassett Salter. He worked as a truck driver most of his life, and was employed by Super K Express. He was a loving man, great husband, dad, brother, and paw paw. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, James "Jimmy" Salter.

Survived by his wife of 43 years, Janet Fuller Salter of Thomaston, daughter, Lorraine (Johnny) Desnoyer of Thomaston, step sons, Robert "Bob" (Pamela) Watson of Thomaston, Craig Watson of Buena Vista, brother, William Salter of Molena, sisters, Frances Nix of Thomaston, Mildred Walker of Molena, sister-in-law, Alice Salter of Meansville, grandchildren, Jimmie Desnoyer, Ashley (Tim) Eaton, Joey (Diedra) Desnoyer all of Thomaston, Caleb Watson, Colin and Blake Peugh all of Senoia, 5 great-grandchildren, many loved nieces and nephews special in his heart. Grandchildren who come into our life for a season, stayed in our hearts with love, Samantha Dickerson, Shawn Garrett, Kyle (Emily) Bailey, Alyssa and Abbie Temples.

MR. JOHN JOSEPH POLLARD

Mr. John Joseph Pollard age 59 of Thomaston Ga., passed away Thursday May 6, 2021 at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Pollard was born on November 25, 1961 in New Orleans, LA., to Bennie Pollard and the late Geraldine Bourgeois Watson. He worked as a ham radio operator for 15 years. He was an avid outdoors man, master craftsman in wood working and a true artisan. He was a member of the First Congregation Church, and served his country in the National Guard. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his brother, Bennie Frank Pollard Jr.

Survivors include his father, Bennie Pollard of Thomaston, son, John J. Pollard Jr., sisters Sheila (Joe) Melton of Molena, Regina (Anthony) McCard of Molena, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m from Hebron Community Church on Hendricks Church Rd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Hebron Community Church.

MRS. SHIRLEY JOAN ELLERBEE POPE

Mrs. Shirley Joan Ellerbee Pope, age 69, of Molena, died, Monday, May 3, 2021, at Harborview Nursing Home.

Mrs. Pope was born on November 20, 1951, in Pike County, to the late James Robert Ellerbee, and to the late Martha Lowary Ellerbee. She worked as a beautician and was self-employed, and she was a member of Mt. View Holiness Church. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her son, Jamie Moody of Molena, brother, James E. Ellerbee of Thomaston, sisters, Virginia Anthony of Molena, and Rhunette (Larry) Cogbun of Molena.

MR. KENNETH WAYNE BLOUNT

Mr. Kenneth Wayne Blount, age 84, of Thomaston, died, Monday, May 3, 2021, a his residence.

Mr. Blount was born September 12, 1936 in Upson County, to the late James Carlton Blount, and the late Grace Lawrence Blount. He worked for the Thomaston Mills in the Peerless Division and was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Adrian and Larry Blount, sisters, Colleen Hood and Marie Daniel, and grandson, Kyle Hankinson.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Marshall Blount of Thomaston, daughters, Karen (Dwayne) Dilks of Fayetteville, Vicky Blount (Joe) White of Thomaston, sons, Keith (Sissy) Blount of Thomaston, Terry Blount of Thomaston, Bobby Blount of Thomaston, sister, Kay (Ronnie) Waddle of Thomaston, 15 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ginny Andrews Gower, 92, of Thomaston, died April 28, 2021, at the residence of her daughter in Griffin, GA.

MR. ARNOLD DOUGLAS GREENBERG

Mr. Arnold Douglas Greenberg, age 76, of Thomaston, passed away, May 2, 2021. Arnold was a restaurateur, working most of his life in the food and restaurant business. He was an excellent cook. Arnold had a deep and profound faith in God and Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his son Patrick Childress, mother Louise Childress, father Arthur Greenberg, father Joe Childress, wife Janice Greenberg, and son-in-law, Tim Donehoo.

He is survived by his children: Josie Donehoo of Atlanta, Mary Starr (Eric) of Duluth, Jennifer Goff (Cary) of Ashville, NC, and Christopher Childress (Stephanie) of Molena; grandchildren: Nicholas, Jordan, Molly, Drew, Jake, Riley, Kara, Christian, Ty, Mason, and Virginia; great-grandchildren: Emmett, Payne, and Cal; brothers: Arthur Childress (Debby) of Orlando, FL, Joey Childress (Cindy) of Orlando; sister: Shelly Lee of Houston, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews.

It was Arnold’s wish to be cremated and no services are planned.

MR. JERRY EDMOND JACKSON

Mr. Jerry Edmond Jackson age 72 of Thomaston Ga., passed away Saturday May 1, 2021 at Harborview Health and rehab.

Mr. Jackson was born on March 29, 1948 in Thomaston, Ga to the late Edmond Carter Jackson and the late Georgia Crawford Jackson. He served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1974. He served in the Vietnam War as a dog handler. He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Jackson, and sister Joyce Roberts.

Survivors include his Wife Linda Jackson of Thomaston, Ga, Daughter Deborah (Marty) Ellis of Thomaston,Ga, Son David (Amanda) Jackson of Englewood,FL, and sister Jessie (Craig) Stegall of Vamell Ga, 4 grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Family will receive friends at Northridge Church Tuesday May 4, 2021 from 10 am to 12 p.m. The service will be held directly after the visitation in the sanctuary of Northridge Church at 12 P.M. Internment will follow in South View Cemetery.
