William Douglas Norton, Jr

Mr. William Douglas Norton, Jr., known to everyone as Junior, age 53, passed away January 27, 2024.  He grew up in Meansville and attended Pike County Schools.  In his early years he worked at Danny’s Manufacturing in Thomaston where he learned woodworking and cabinet making.  He later became a HVAC technician and worked for A & B Heating and Cooling in Thomaston for 13 years. Junior was a jack-of-all trades and liked building things like go-karts and sheds, playing the guitar, and riding motorcycles. He was a jokester and always enjoyed making others laugh. Junior was a long-time member of Mt. View Holiness Church in Meansville. 

 He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Amanda and James Smith and Katie and Justin Raines all of Thomaston; grandchildren: Kayden Stitcher, Kolby Stitcher, Bellamy Smith, Carter Raines and Kinslee Raines; parents: Rev. Doug and Eva Norton of Meansville; sisters and brothers-in-law: Donna and Phil Settle of Molena and Teresa and Glynn Nelson of Thomaston; nephew: Chris Settle; niece: Angela Teal; great-niece and great-nephews:  Tyler Teal, Dustin Teal, and Elyzabeth Settle; great-great-nephews: Legend and Legacy Teal.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery in Molena.

 

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses.
