Millie Sandra Hardwick

Mrs. Millie Sandra Hardwick, age 76, of Yatesville, GA, died  Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Emory University Hospital.  

Funeral services for Mrs. Hardwick will be held on Saturday, January 6, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.  Mr. Gary Bray and Mr. Jeffrey Falls will officiate, and burial will follow in the High Falls Baptist Church Cemetery in Monroe County.  The family will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Friday evening, January 5, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. 

Mrs. Hardwick was born November 17, 1947, in Stone Mountain, GA, to the late Millard J. Cates and the late Mattie Sue Nelson Cates.  She was retired from the US Postal Service, having worked for a total of 32 years in the Lithonia and Bainbridge Post Offices.  Mrs. Hardwick was independent and hard-working.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son James Roger Mitchell, and a brother, Donald Lee Cates. Survivors include three daughters: Karen (Bill) Wood of Yatesville, GA, Robin (Jeff) Falls of Ft. Myers, FL, and Cindy (Monica) Edwards of Norcross, GA; a brother: Thomas Andrew Cates of Newborn, GA; five grandchildren: Samantha DeArmond (Clint Friar), Chad (Tabitha) Power, Shana Mann, Sandy (Connor) Stevens, and Brock DeArmond; and ten great grandchildren.
