Funeral services for Mrs. Hammack will be held Wednesday, September 13, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with Rev. Hulet Smith officiating. Interment will follow the service in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 12:30 until 2:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hammack was born July 26, 1947, in Upson County, the daughter of the late Carl Cleveland and the late Odessa Lee Cleveland. She was a graduate of R.E. Lee Institute and she was employed in the sewing room of Thomaston Mills until her retirement. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Mrs. Hammack's biggest hobby was her grandchildren and she will be remembered as a "Great Grand Mama." Mrs. Hammack leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Wendy Hamby, her brother, Wayne Cleveland, her granddaughter, Holly Hamby, and her grandson, Ridge Hamby, all of Thomaston. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hammack was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Hammack, her son, Brad Hammack, and her brother, James Cleveland.
