Memorial services for Mr. Ethridge will be held Tuesday, September 26, at 2:00 PM, at the First Baptist Church of Thomaston with Rev. Bryan McPherson and Rev. Bill Barber officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church on Tuesday from 1:00 PM util the funeral hour.
Mr. Ethridge was born in Upson County on January 28, 1938, to the late Eugene V. Ethridge and the late Mackie Tidwell Ethridge. He was a graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and served his country in the U. S. Navy. He was the retired owner of Thomaston Refrigeration Company. Mr. Ethridge enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Thomaston. Mr. Ethridge is survived by his wife, Martha Faye Stevens Ethridge of Thomaston; two sons: James Lamar "Jay" (Helen) Ethridge, Jr. of Alpharetta, GA, and Scot (Allison) Ethridge of Warner Robins, GA; two sisters: Martha (Jerry) Helms of Thomaston and LaRose (Lamar) Storey of Columbia, SC; two grandsons: Trey Ethridge of Smyrna, GA and Blake Ethridge of Athens, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
