Brenda Martin, of Yatesville, age 61, passed away on September 21, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Born April 28th, 1962, in Barnesville, Georgia. She was the first born of six children. Brenda was a beacon of light in our lives, she touched the hearts of all who knew her with her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love. Brenda’s spirit will live on in the countless lives she enriched through her boundless generosity, her loving nature, vivacious personality, captivating storytelling, and contagious laughter.
Brenda not only embraced life but also taught us to cherish the small moments that bring us the most joy. Her spirit reminds us that it’s in these everyday simple pleasures that we find the true essence of happiness. Through her love for family, friends, gardening, the great outdoors, and a warm meal shared, she inspired us all to savor every precious instant that life offers.
Brenda’s embodiment of love and laughter, and her appreciation of life’s wonders will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Beloved daughter, sister, and friend. She leaves behind a trail of cherished memories.
Brenda’s departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but her life will forever inspire us to be better, kinder, and more loving. In her memory, let us continue to spread joy and compassion, and enthusiasm for life, ensuring that her legacy lives on in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held on September 30, 2023, at 12:00 pm, at First Assembly of God in Barnesville, Georgia. Officiated by Pastor Daniel Perry. Her family kindly requests that flowers and donations be sent to the Church or to Moody-Daniel Funeral Home in Zebulon in Brenda’s honor.
Those passed on before her are her father Lee-Roy Jones, stepfather Joe Sweat, grandmother Audrey Sutton and grandfather Hugh Sutton.
She is survived by her loving mother: Brenda Sweat; dear husband of 35 years: Don Martin; daughters: Crystal Temples and her husband Shone, Misty Martin, and Lindsey Garrod. Her grandchildren: Madison and Joshua Caraway, Ryan Garrod, Joey Martin, Christopher Johnson, Tearsin Parker, Jillian and Lillian Temples, and Summer Sollenberger and Kelsey Temples; siblings: Jeffrey and Claudette Jones, Kenny Jones, Keith Jones, Joseph and Patricia Jones, and Anita Buice. Several in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
