Mr. Stacy was the first born of John Woodard Stacy and Lucy Broiles Stacy, both of Coffee County, Tennessee. He joined the Air Force during the Korean War where he fell in love with airplanes. He travelled the world flying reconnaissance missions as a flight engineer. After an honorable discharge in 1955, Mr. Stacy returned to Tennessee to marry. The newlyweds moved to Alabama where he began employment with Hayes Aircraft. In 1958, Mr. Stacy began employment with Eastern Airlines in Miami, Florida. Mr. Stacy travelled to many airplane and car shows. He also restored several cars and was an active member of a local motorcycle club, the Southside Riders. His interest in football began with the Miami Dolphins in the 1970’s, but nothing compared to his love of Nascar. He knew every driver’s name and number and on whose team they raced.
