William Anthony “Tony” House, Sr

Mr. William Anthony “Tony” House, Sr., age 71, of Milner, passed away May 5, 2024.  He was born in Carrollton, son of the late Willie B. “Bill” House, Jr., and Louise Shadix House. Tony was a veteran of the United States Army.  He was one of the first certified EMTs in Georgia. He graduated from Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in 1977 and lived a life of service in the funeral industry for 47 years. He began his career at Haisten’s Funeral Home in Griffin and worked whenever he was needed at their Barnesville and Jackson locations. He also worked at Williams Funeral Home in Barnesville and for eight years, Tony owned and operated Holly Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Fairburn. He was currently managing Haisten’s Funeral Home in Jackson. For many years, Tony sold insurance for Liberty National.

Along with his parents, he preceded in death by his brothers, Billy House and Edward House.

 

He is survived by his sons and a daughter-in-law: Tony and Kim House of Milner and Brian House of Vero Beach, FL; grandchildren and their spouses: Tyler and Holly House, Cameron and Bryce House, Kristin and Bailey Thompson, Hunter House and Dakota House; great-grandchildren: Charleigh House, Branson House, and one on the way, Blakely Ann Thompson; sister-in-law: Cathi House; and several extended family members.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens.

 

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
