James “Jim” Lee Wilson

Mr. James “Jim” Lee Wilson, age 62, of Zebulon, passed away May 29, 2024, at his home.  He was born in Miami, FL, son of the late P. Leon Wilson and Elizabeth Jean Pippin Wilson. Jim lived in Barnesville where he graduated from Lamar County High School in 1979.  After graduation, Jim joined the United States Army where he served 16 years of active duty before transferring to the National Guard where he served about 7 years before retiring from the military. Jim was currently working at Barfield Precision Electronics as a quality control inspector where he had been employed for 20 years. 

Jim enjoyed leather working, woodworking, playing the guitar, and crafting handmade fishing flies. He was always eager to learn something new. He had been active in his church, in the Walk to Emmaus, Kairos Ministry and was always very helpful, eager to be of aid, and to lend a helping hand. 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael “Mike” Leon Wilson.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years: Joan Elizabeth Berry; brother: David Wilson; niece and nephew:  Beth Vinson (Ray) and Josh David Wilson; and ister-in-law: Carol Berry (Steve Webb).

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
