Mary Lee Griffin Aaron

Mrs. Mary Lee Griffin Aaron, age 79, passed away May 10, 2024, at her home in Griffin.  She grew up in Atlanta, one of nine children raised by the late Charles Edward Sims and the late Mamie Griffin Sims. Mary worked in the banking industry for most of her life and retired from the international banking department of Bank of America.  For many years, she owned and operated Aaron’s Gems, a flea market on Metropolitan Pkwy. in Atlanta. She was also an Avon and Tupperware representative. Mary enjoyed many things like gardening and playing solitaire on her computer, but her favorite pastime was sitting on her front porch watching the cars pass by on the street. Mary was a kind, generous and giving lady.  Whatever she had, she gladly gave to others. 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her biological father Jessie Reeds; husband, Ernest Aaron and five brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children: Syldrik Aaron, Myndra Aaron (Consuela) and Cyrnard Aaron; brother and sisters: Charles Edward Sims, Jr., Donna Meria Sims, and Charlie Kate Griffin.

Grandchildren: Tiffiny Davis, Aisha Aaron, Syldrik Aaron, Jr., Elisa Scury, Jermik Harris, Earnest Aaron, Bryant Aaron, Bonita Aaron, Myndra Aaron, Jr. and Keandra Aaron; 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home. Friends may visit the family on Saturday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mary will be buried next to her husband in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton at a later date.
