Mrs. Maddox was born on May 25, 1926, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Elijah Echols, and the late Mary Williams Echols. She was a homemaker and a member of Rock Springs Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Martin Taylor Maddox, daughter, Linda Mote, and son, Leroy Smith.
Survivors include her daughters, Mildred Degner of Barnesville, Nan (Ben) Langley of Jasper, son David (Barbara) Maddox of Lakeland, Florida, grandchildren, Robbie Mote, Marty (Cathy) Mote, Allen Mote, Michael (Elizabeth) Head, Barbara (Brad) Boyd, Lynn (John) Cunningham, Terri (Chris) Levine, Susan (Mike) Echols, Julie Smith, Taylor Maddox, several great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow at College Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
