Larry Gene Pollette, Sr.

 

Mr. Larry Gene Pollette, Sr., age 84, of Meansville, passed away May 23, 2024, at his home. Larry spent most of his childhood in Thomaston and moved to Griffin at the age of 12. He graduated from Griffin High School in 1958 and then served in the United States Army. He worked in the heating, air conditioning and refrigeration business for most of his life.  He loved music, especially picking the guitar. In the 1960’s, Larry was part of the 4 Aces Band which won a Battle of the Bands contest. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, being on the water and riding dirt roads where he grew up.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Mitchell Pollette, parents, William M. Pollette and Ailene Coates Pollette, sisters, Jackie Williams and Joann “JoJo” Pollette.

 

He is survived by his sons: Keith Pollette (Chasity) and Larry Gene Pollette, Jr.; grandchildren: Ashley Barnhart (Cash), Blake Pollette, Katelyn Pollette, Brian Pollette, Levi Pollette, Larsen Dean; great-grandchildren: Jett Barnhart, Colt Barnhart, Addi Blount, Maddi Blount, Lennon Blount and Milbie Pollette; niece: Debbie Vaughn (Cam); nephew: Tommy Williams (Kris); and life-long friends: Donald and Linda Banks.

 

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2024, 3 p.m., at Oak Hill Cemetery in Griffin. Minister Donald Banks will officiate.

 

Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m., at the graveside. Moody Daniel Funeral Home
