Euleta White-Phipps

Euleta White-Phipps passed away peacefully in her home in Lindale, Georgia on August 27, 2024.

She was born “Lutie Euleta Watkins” to Ollie and William Watkins of Thomaston GA on March 31, 1941. She was beloved by many in the community and known as the supportive wife of her husband’s business “Smokey White’s Gulf” service station, for her years of service to “Big Apple” grocery and Thomaston Mills, and for her dedication and service to her church, New Harmony Baptist.  She is remembered by many for her unmistakable voice - a spiritual gift which she used to witness to others throughout her life in many churches as a soloist and as member of “The Northside Trio”.  She raised many children other than her own sons, Tommy and David, as she always opened her home and her heart unconditionally.  Her Godly influence continued to bless many generations of children, grandchildren, stepchildren, nieces, and nephews, as her love knew no limits.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents, as well as her brothers Bill Watkins, Sonny Watkins, Parnell Watkins, and sister, Sylvia Evans ((Al), and her son Tommy White.

Euleta was blessed to be loved by two wonderful spouses - Thomas “Smokey” White who passed away in 1987 and Alvin Phipps who also preceded her in death in 2010.  She leaves behind a family who will cherish the precious memories of her Godly influence, unmatched wit, and immense devotion.  Son - David White (Julie), and grandchildren Darian White (Jayleen), Dylan White(Sarah), Grace White, Landon Brooks, Breelynn Brooks, great granddaughter, Anslee White, sisters-in-law Anita Watkins and Vicky Watkins, as well as many loved ones of the Phipps family.  The entire family will always be grateful for the exceptional care she received from her grandson Darian and his fiance Jayleen, whose selfless devotion allowed her to live out her final years in her home surrounded by those she loved most.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Crystal Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends, Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. from Coggins Funeral Home.
