Mr. Kent was born on August 3, 1947, in Thomaston, Ga. to the late Floyd Kent and Evelyn Tidwell Kent. He was a former employee at Barrow Propane, a section leader at Martha Mill and his most recent employer was Keadle Lumber Company as a boiler operator.
As well as his parents Mr. Kent is predeceased by son, Todd Smith and sister, Landris Davison.
Survivors include his wife Phyliss Kent, daughters, April (Paul) Jones of Thomaston, Ga, Tracy (John) Corley of Meansville, Ga, Denise (Jeff) Hodges of Hamilton, Ga, brothers, Kenny (Tina) Kent of Thomaston, Ga, grandchildren Dylan (Summer) Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Josh (Bella) Corley, Hailee (Taylor) Caldwell, Matt (Anna) Hodges, Brad (McKenzie) Hodges, great-grandchildren, Waylon Johnson, Wyatt Johnson, Gunner Johnson, Noah King, Archer Hodges, and Emma Hodges.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
