Hunter Scott Self, age 18, of Concord, passed away October 7, 2021. Hunter grew up in Pike County, graduating from Pike County High School with honors in May of this year. He was currently attending Southern Crescent Technical College pursuing degrees in computer animation and website development. Hunter was a gifted writer and artist. He was in the process of writing a medieval fantasy book. Hunter was also working part time in the maintenance department at La Quinta Inns and Suites in Macon.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, June and Danny Wilson and Debbie Morris.
He is survived by his parents, Dianna and David Self of Concord; sister: Ariel Jasmine Self; brother: Christian David Self; grandparents: Johnny E. and Mary Sue Self; aunt: Darlene Burns of Concord; uncle: James Mark Self; his cousin and best friend: Daniel Burns; cousins: Zachary Wilson, Austin Self, Delaney Self, Brandy Morris and Devon, Morgan and Paige Morris.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 12, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens.
Friends may visit the family on Monday, October 11, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
Moody-Daniel Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
