Edward Samuel “Sammy” Rappold, Jr

Mr. Edward Samuel “Sammy” Rappold, Jr., age 70, of Molena, passed away September 5, 2024, at his home.  Sammy grew up in downtown Atlanta where he lived for many years and moved to Molena in 2001.  He worked in construction and was a house builder and truck driver. Sammy enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and dove shoots.  He was a good friend, neighbor and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Molena.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Samuel Rappold, Sr. and Mary Frances Pilkenton Rappold.  

 

He is survived by his wife and companion of 24 years: Sheila Rappold; daughters and sons: Marylynn Montano (Brian), Forrest Dixon (Linda), Nick Dixon, Justin Dixon, and April Elliott (Chris); grandchildren: Katherine, Brianna, Samantha, Kyle, Buddy, Sarah, Angela, Tyler, Greggory, Benjamin and Emily; two great-grandchildren: two sisters and a brother: Sara Angeletti (Freddie), Mary Kaplan (Mike), and Charles Rappold (Erin); an aunt: Patricia Pendley; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, September 14, at 2 p.m., in Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1177 Hwy. 109, Molena. Pastor Mark Harris will officiate.

 

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the church. Moody-Daniel Funeral Home
