Mrs. Wanda Belle Smith Corbin, age 85, of Zebulon, passed away September 1, 2021, at her home. She was born in Elwood, IL, and raised in Chuckey, TN, daughter of the late Vernon Crawford Smith, Sr. and Pearl Margaret Bell Smith. Mrs. Corbin was a homemaker, a loving and selfless wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and caregiver. She loved to cook, travel and go camping.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Emitt Paul Corbin, Jr., her son, Melvin Emitt Corbin, sisters, Jeanette Fleenor, Shirley Ware, Doris Hensley, Linda Simpson and her brother, Vernon Smith.
She is survived by her children: Deborah Corbin Hayes (Sonny) of Barnesville, Vickie Corbin Escarsega (Joel) of Denton, TX, Randy Corbin (Michelle) of Pike County, and Rhonda Corbin Harwell (Rusty) of Zebulon; grandchildren: Michelle Hayes (Michael), Paul Hayes (Regina), Michael Corbin (Victoria), Alexis Corbin, Morgan Corbin, Brandy Rose (Gage), Colby Rose, Kimberly, Jackson and Joe Escarsega, Jason Corbin (Mandy), Breanna Corbin, Lulu Corbin, Jamie Corbin, Rebecca Daley (Jim) and J. R. Harwell; great-grandchildren: Isley Hayes, Emily Rose, Allen Faulkner, Braxton Rose, Lilly Rose and Lila Corbin; sister: Joyce Holthaus (Mark), niece: Dawn Phillips (Jerry); and nephew: James Simpson (Amanda).
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, September, 4, 1:00 -2:00 p.m., at the funeral home. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Harwell officiating.
