Mrs. Loretta Weekley, age 84, of Griffin, passed away August 1, 2021. Loretta was born in Lynch, KY, daughter of the late Fred Joe Muse and Kathleen Kinder Muse. She was an antique dealer who loved history and antebellum homes. Her favorite things to do were reading, traveling, and filling her farmhouse with treasures, which she affectionately called “the old home place”.
Those who knew her would describe her as a character—one who often seemed lost in a world all her own. She could often be found singing in her kitchen, telling stories on her front porch, or tending to her peonies. Her passion and uniqueness was an inspiration to her friends and family, and she will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents and three of her sisters, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Freddie Stancil.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years: W.D. (Bill) Weekley; sons: Harold Stancil II and wife Robin of Los Angeles, CA, Russell A. Stancil of Dallas, GA, and David T. Stancil of Marietta, GA; daughter: Allison Bass of Cumming, GA; brother: William J. Muse of Tampa, FL; sister: Sue Lasley of Canton, GA; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, August 7, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
