Dorothy V Childs

Dorothy V Childs Myrick Emminger, a Macon Georgia native, passed away of natural causes on August 27, 2023, at the age of 92.  Dorothy was born March 30, 1931, to Sarah McDaniels (Maddox) and Leon Childs.  Her many hobbies included reading, writing poems, gardening, dancing, and crafting.  She enjoyed attending church and spending time with her family. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband George Emminger, son Earl Myrick, daughter Deborah Myrick, siblings WL Childs, Eleanor Hewitt, Johnny Childs, and Linda Hutto.  

 

Dorothy is survived by her children, Kathy Rozier (Frank) of Smyrna TN, Susie Dunlavey (Donald) of Jonesboro GA, Joey Myrick (Ruth) of Sharpsburg GA, Neal Emminger (Sheree) of Tyrone GA and Nicole Wiley of Carlsbad CA; stepchildren, Peggy Harbuck, Carol McCullough, Ronnie Emminger, Brenda Faraci, Sandi Lee, Frank Emminger and Rose Lee; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

 

A private family burial was held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens on August 29th.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  She touched the lives of many and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
