Mr. George W. Parker, 83, of Thomaston, died Saturday, May 9th, 2015 at Providence Health and Rehab

Mr. George W. Parker, 83, of Thomaston, died Saturday, May 9th, 2015 at Providence Health and Rehab.
Funeral services for Mr. Parker will be held on Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Parker was a native of Piedmont, Al, born on November 12, 1931. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1950 until 1966. He was a prisoner of war during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Parker lived in Texas for many years and was a construction inspector the Texas Department of Transportation. While in Texas he attended the Pathway of Life Church.
Mr. Parker is survived by three step-daughters, Patsy (James) Meeks of Thomaston, Darlene (Jim) Squires of Granberry, TX and Patricia (Gary) Watts of Newborn; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara S. Parker.
The family of Mr. Parker will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:30 until 2 pm.
