Mr. , age 96, died Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at his residence in Meansville, Ga.
Mr. Day was born in Upson County to the late James Leonard and Alta Day. He was owner/operator of Home and Business Protection Company, member of the Thomaston Seventh Day Adventist Church, and WWII Veteran of the US Navy on the USS TEXAS.
He is survived by his sons, Andrew W. Day of Thomaston, Barry Day of Palm Coast FL, and Randy Day of Las Vegas NV; sister, Mattalyn Haynes of Stone Mountain GA; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Cecile Day; daughters, Eugenia Day Bullard and Deborah Day Dubke; granddaughter, Sophia Mariel Bullard; sisters, Helen Hines, Virginia Van Cleave, Charlotte Brooks, and Peggy Day; brothers, Stanley Day, Hansen Day, and Gywn Day.
Funeral services for Mr. Day will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Valley Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 29, 2019, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Coggins Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Thomaston Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1548 Highway 19 N, Thomaston, GA 30286-2258.
