Mrs. Annie Bessie Mathews age 92 of Thomaston Ga, died Thursday November 17, 2016 at Providence Health and Rehab.
Mrs. Mathews was born on May 29, 1924 in Dawson County Ga, to the late Henry and Hattie Mae Hughes Clay. She was formerly employed with The William Carter Company where she worked as a machine operator for many years. Mrs. Mathews was a member of Kings Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Jasper Eugene Mathews, sons Clay Mathews, Thomas Mathews sister Ruth Glaze.
Survivors include her son Mr. Eddie (Kathy) Mathews of Thomaston Ga, sisters Mrs. Dessie Smelcer of Cleveland Ga, Mrs. Bunny Whitfiled of Cleveland Ga, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday November 19, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Friday November 18, 2016 from 5-7 p.m.
