FORMER WTGA EMPLOYEE LAMAR DULIN

Lamar Dulin, age 70, passed away November 22 at West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange.  Lamar was born on July 14, 1946 in LaGrange to the late Willie Roe and Princess Dulin. He was also predeceased by siblings Bennie Dulin, Rachel Wisener, and Helen Kelley.  He is survived by his son Derek and Derek’s wife Crystal, grandsons Shay and Andrew Dulin, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He attended the Baptist Tabernacle in LaGrange.

Lamar was a 1965 graduate of LaGrange High School and a veteran of the US Air Force.  Following his military service he briefly lived in Colorado and the Atlanta area before relocating to Thomaston. He worked in Thomaston for Lanier Electronics a few years before joining the US Postal Service, where he spent most of his working career.  He also owned and operated Thomaston television station WTUC, where he was the longtime host of the “Gospel Tracks” program for several years before moving back to LaGrange a few years ago.  Lamar also occasionally worked on the side as a radio disc jockey (including local station WTGA) and until recently did newscasts on radio station Eagle 102.3 in LaGrange.

In addition to his professional career Lamar had a passion for magic.  As “Mr. Magic” he loved doing magic shows at children's birthday parties and other special events.  He was also a fan and promoter of southern gospel music, and as a promoter he brought several gospel singing groups to Thomaston.
