Mrs. June Barfield Boyt, age 88, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Providence Health & Rehab. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 26, at 2:00 PM, in the Faith Baptist Church. Rev. J. B. Teal and Rev. James Walls will officiate, and interment will follow in the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Yatesville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, May 25, from 6 until 8 PM,, at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.
Mrs. Boyt was a native of Bibb County. She was a seamstress for the William Carter Company and had also worked for local nursing homes. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons: Mike Boyt of Lavonia; Wayne (Barbara) Boyt of Milner; Gene (Peggy) Boyt and Jack (Susie) Boyt, both of Thomaston; two sisters: Shirley (Gene) Craft and Jeanette (Donald) Helms, both of Thomaston; one brother: Tommy Barfield of Thomaston; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren also survive.
