Sarah Patricia “Patsy” Eppinger Gregg

Mrs. Sarah Patricia “Patsy” Eppinger Gregg, age 85, of Hollonville, passed away March 4, 2024. She grew up in Concord, daughter of the late William Montgomery Eppinger, Sr. and Ruby Kendrick Eppinger. Patsy was a member of the first class to graduate from Pike County High School Class of 1956. She then attended West Georgia College graduating with a two-year business degree. She and John married in 1958, moving from Concord to Hollonville. While helping John with the farm part-time she accepted her first job with the Griffin Daily News where she worked until she accepted a job at Bank of Zebulon and then First National Bank. When her youngest was born she began helping John full-time with the farm. She was the bookkeeper for the farm and was a big inspiration for the pick your own peaches that Gregg Farms still has today.

Patsy was a member of Williamson Methodist Church.  She also enjoyed playing bridge, dominoes and traveling with her friends. She was an avid reader and a proponent of education.

She was preceded in death by her late in life companion Walter Jones, her husband John Thomas Gregg, her brother W. M (Billy) Eppinger, Jr. her father William Montgomery Eppinger, and her mother Ruby Kendrick Eppinger. 

She is survived by her sons: Thomas Lee Gregg (Julie) and Brad Stuart Gregg (Kathy) all of Williamson; grandchildren:  Thomas William Gregg (Kristina), Christopher Davis Gregg (Abbi), Stuart Montgomery Gregg, and Sarah Meghan Gregg-Penland (Chase); great-grandchildren: Breckyn Annaleigh, Olivia Elaine and Callan Lee Gregg.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, 2 p.m., at Williamson Methodist Church. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the church.
