Ralph Clifford Williams

Mr. Ralph Clifford Williams, age 83, of Pike County, passed away June 30, 2023, at his home.  He was born in Williamson, son of the late James Tommy Williams and Mary Emma Huddleston Williams.  Mr. Williams attended Pike County High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. While he was in the military, he worked on the B-47 Bomber and was an expert marksman.  After being honorably discharged, he took a job with Delta Air Lines where he retired as a mechanic after 27 years. Mr. Williams always enjoyed working. He owned and operated R. C. Land Clearing Business for many years. He wore many hats and could fix anything. He was a mechanic, plumber, builder, farmer, storyteller and most importantly, he was a family man. 

Mr. Williams was a 32 ½° Mason, member, and Past Master of Montgomery Lodge #31 in Zebulon, where he served in numerous positions. He was also a member of the Griffin Shrine Club, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Knights of the York Cross of Honor (KYCH) and Knight Commanders Court of Honor (KCCH).

 

Mr. Williams enjoyed reading his Bible. He was a saved man who loved the Lord and his family. 

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Hoyt, Hanson, Franklin “Smiley,” Norman, Merril, Auris, and Carvel, and his sisters, Evelyn and Carol.

 

He is survived by his wife of 62 years:  Linda Hayslip Williams; daughters and sons-in-law:  Lynn and Gary Maynard of Williamson and Teresa and Wayne Smith of Davidson, NC; son and daughter-in-law: Tommy Clifford and Kim Williams of Williamson; grandchildren: Bryan (Tayla), Tiffany (PawPaw’s birthday girl), Kellie (Austin), and Corey (Amy); great-grandchildren: Avery, Lacie and Allie; brother: Cecil Williams of Barnesville; sister: Sybil Denton of Barnesville; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Friends may visit the family on Monday, July 3, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.  Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Rev. Al Shackelford and Mr. Terrell Moody officiating.
