Mr. Paul D. Toms Sr. age 79 of The Rock, Ga., passed away Sunday February 9, 2020.
Mr. Toms was a Tennessee native born to William Thomas Toms and Zelphia Marie Toms. Paul is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dottie, his son Paul Toms (Julie) Jr, a daughter Marilyn (Kevin) Delli-Gatti, one brother John Henry Roms, two sisters Emily Shoemake and Jennie Toms. Also surviving at 4 grandchildren William Paul (Elizabeth) Toms, Carson Olivia Toms, Noelle Delli-Gatti, Holly Delli-Gatti and one great grandchild Wyatt William Toms and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Toms was also blessed with bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and a beloved granddaughter Lauren Ann Delli-Gatti.
Paul was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having proudly served for four years. He was retired from A.T&T having spent most of his career in the field of communications. Paul was a member of The First Baptist Church of Barnesville Ga, where he enjoyed singing in the choir and attending his Sunday School Class. Paul enjoyed golfing, cooking, bar-b-quin and spending time with his family. His special delight was spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday February 12, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from Barnesville First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, those who desire may donate to First Baptist Church Barnesville Ga, or to the county Humane Society of their choice.
