MR. WILLIAM EDWARD WHITMER

Mr. William Edward "Eddie" Whitmer, age 72, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at Harborview Nursing and Rehab in Thomaston.

Mr. Whitmer was born September 28, 1946, in Hampton VA, to the late Charles Ernest and Nina Pearl Whitmer. He retired from the automotive manufacture industry, was of the Baptist faith, and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Whitmer; daughters, Patti (Lynn) Weems of Culloden, and Aimee Fowler of Valley AL; sons, Charles (Lisa) Whitmer of Beulah AL, and Scotty Whitmer of Valley AL; sisters, Mary (Larry) Gilliland and Kay Echols; brothers, Charles (Mary) Whitmer Jr, Johnny (Renee) Whitmer, and Tommy(Connie) Whitmer; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother, George Franklin Whitmer.

Graveside services for Mr. Whitmer will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at 2:00 pm in Upson Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2019 from 1:00 pm until time of the service.
