Mr. Shirah, was born January 17, 1933, in Mitchell County GA, to the late George Emory and Coreen Harmen Shirah Allen. He was a farmer and foreman for the Ford Motor Company.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Newton. Survivors are his wife, Antoinette "Toni" Shirah of Thomaston; daughter, Diane (Terry) Bloodworth of Thomaston; sons, Ferrell (Pam) Shirah of Tyrone GA and Scott (Becky) Shirah of Hopeful GA; sister, Annette Sullivan; grandchildren, Heather Shirah, Justin Shirah, Landria Alegria, Autumn Shirah, Aubrey Harper, Janann Abernathy, Meagan Hill, and Bray Hill; great-grandchildren, Charlie Harper, Samuel Harper, Tyler Abernathy, Cayden Abernathy, and Dylan Shirah; and great-great-grandchild, Kahner Abernathy.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to The Church Gathering, 456 Hannahs Mill Rd, Thomaston GA 30286.
Funeral services for Mr. Shirah will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at 2:00 PM at The Gathering Church. Interment will be held later in Hopeful GA.
