Mr. Ottis Jackson Hewatt Jr., age 83, of Thomaston, died on Sunday June 14, 2015 at Riverside Health and Rehab.

Mr. Ottis Jackson Hewatt Jr., age 83, of Thomaston, died on Sunday June 14, 2015 at Riverside Health and Rehab.

Mr. Hewatt was born on July 28 1931 in Tucker GA to the late Ottis Jackson and Thelma Frazier Hewatt Sr. He retired after 40 years as an auto mechanic and worked for himself and Crossroads Chrysler. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Peggy Elizabeth Fields. Survivors are his wife, Alma C. Hewatt of Thomaston; sons, Jack (Debbie) Hewatt of Jasper GA, and David Hewatt of Acworth GA; Brother Gene (Lou) Hewatt of Hiawassee GA; sisters, Doris Stampp, and Janice Hewatt of Decatur GA, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial services for Mr. Hewatt will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday June 19, 2015 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at Coggins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Upson Humane Society, P.O. Box 1152, Thomaston GA 30286.
