Mr. Waddell was born on July 31, 1944, in Upson County, Georgia, to the late Willie G. Waddell and the late Nellie Irene Peugh Waddell. He retired from Georgia DOT after 34 years as a Draftsman and was a member of Clarks Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, William Gerald Waddell, and sister, Sandra Waddell.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Payne Waddell of Thomaston, nephews, Donnie (Marisa) Waddell, Damie (Vickie) Waddell, and Dusty (Leah) Waddell.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. from Clarks Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. from Coggins Funeral Home.
