Terrell LaPage Brooks, Sr.

Mr. Terrell LaPage Brooks, Sr., age 76, of Meansville, passed away June 4, 2023. Terrell grew up in Cedartown, Georgia, son of the late William Terrell Brooks, Sr. and Clara Brooks.  He was an entrepreneur and jack-of-all-trades who owned several businesses over the years, loved working on cars, and fixing things in his spare time. He cherished the little things in life, including his daily coffee and trips to the gas station to buy lottery tickets or scratch-offs. He found joy in the outdoors, adventure in the unknown, and peace spending time with his family or pets. He loved unconditionally and showed grace to those around him.

Terrell never met a stranger or missed an opportunity to say, “I love you”. He had passion for sharing laughter and kindness with everyone he met and found purpose in making others smile every day. He loved intentional conversation and cherished any chance to share wisdom with others, usually with an added joke or anecdote. He always had a smile on his face and treated everyone he met like family. His heart for people and joy in living life to its fullest was passed on to his three children and will forever be a part of his memory.

He was often referred to as “superman”, and made sure he had plenty of business cards to prove it.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Frances and brother, Charlie.

He is survived by his children: Beverly Brooks Zammett, Terrell Brooks, Jr. (Kelley Greathouse) and Gerald Brooks, who lived with him to support and aid with his healthcare; partner for 50+ years: Judy Ledbetter; grandchildren: Brittany, Makayla, Reid, Gapp, Landry, Lawson, Lane, Annalyse, Marissa, Brylei, and Ava; great-grandchildren: Owen, Maddox, Isabella, Madelyn, Delilah, Austin, and Aria; sister: Clara Odum; brothers: Floyd Brooks (Mary) and John Brooks; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 9, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.

Friends may visit the family on Friday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
