Mrs. Hammock was born March 10, 1927, in Lamar County, to the late, Newton Edward Griffin, and the late Rosa Clara Lynch Griffin. She was a homemaker and a former member of Mud Bridge Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Walter Alvah Hammock, and numerous brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughters, Marci (John) Hancock of Snellville, Angela (Curtis) Lynch of Social Circle, son, Keith (Rita) Hammock of Franklin, TN, grandchildren, Brittany Hammock, Brook Garner, Kory Hammock, Justin Hancock, Bridget Lynch, Marisa Lynch, great-grandchildren, Dalton and Daelyn Garner, Isaac, James and Anna Diamond.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. from Crystal Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimers Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
