Mr. McKaughan was born on February 12, 1942 in Griffin Ga, to the late Duke McKaughan and the late Ruth Taylor McKaughan. He was formerly employed with the Lincoln Center of Performing Arts in New York where he worked as the Vice President of Public Affairs for 30 years. Mr. McKaughan was a member of Griffin First United Methodist Church and a member of the Main Street Players Theatrical Group.
Joe was preceded in death by his close friend of 46 years Joseph Jackson. He was a tremendous supporter of all the arts organizations in our community. Also, he was always so enthusiastic about the good that was happening in Griffin and was actively involved when he returned to Griffin after retiring from Lincoln Center. He always had a smile and when he talked with you he made you feel good .
Joe is survived by a host of cousins.
