MR. THOMAS FRANKLIN DAVIDSON

Mr. Thomas Franklin Davidson , 83 of Thomaston GA., breathed his last on Thursday September 17, 2015. Thomas or “Tom”, “Uncle Tom” or “Poppa” as he was lovingly known best,  survived his childhood love and wife, Earnestine Davidson by 5 years and a few months.  Tom  spent his life after serving his country in the Korean War by building a family and providing for that family. It reached far and wide and contained people not just by blood but also love.  His career was in Textiles and He worked 45+ years inside The “Martha Mills” in the Carding Dept.  He spent most of those years on the 12-8 shift in the position of Section Leader. He also had a love for small engines in his early years and spent much time repairing them for neighbors and friends.  Thomas came to fully trust Jesus Christ and  made that love publicly known by submission and baptism at Twin Oaks Baptist Church in Thomaston, GA where He and Earnestine were members.  Thomas served the Church in many capacities such as Treasurer and “grass cutter” and anything else that he was asked to do.

Tom’s life was mostly spent  in his favorite past time; loving and supporting his family.  He precedes two son’s  had by He and Ernestine, Tommie (Margit) Davidson  of Columbus GA, who have two children; Mindy (John) Tugman  and Matthew Davidson all currently residing in Chattanooga TN, and Terry (Lisa) Davidson of Thomaston GA, who have two children; Amy Davidson of Thomaston and Thomas (Tracy) Blount currently residing in Albany GA. Thomas has 3 great grandchildren; Charlotte Tugman, Myrikal and Zoey Jane Carolyn Blount. Sister, Hazel Allison of Thomaston and Several nieces and nephews also survive.
