Mrs. Maudell A. Stephenson, age 80, of Thomaston, died Saturday morning, November 19, 2022, at Providence Health Care.
Funeral services for Mrs. Stephenson will be held Tuesday, November 29, at 2:00 PM, at Mountain View Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday evening, November 28, at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stephenson was born in Upson County, on January 25, 1942, the daughter of the late Clarence Lee Allen and the late Sara McMillian Allen. She was a 1959 graduate of Yatesville High School, where she was a member of the Lady Jackets championship basketball team. She was employed with the Thomaston Police Department for 33 years where she was a police officer, clerk of court, and retired as an administrative assistant. She was later employed with Fletcher-Day Funeral Home as a funeral service associate. Mrs. Stephenson was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.
Mrs. Stephenson is survived by her niece, Lisa Allen (Roger) Anderson of Melbourne, Florida, and numerous cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Stephenson, her brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Joanne Allen, and her nephew, Lee Allen.
