MRS. CAROL GULLEDGE

Mrs. Carol Gulledge age 80 of Thomaston Ga, died Wednesday December 30, 2015 at The Medical Center of Central Georgia.

Mrs. Gulledge was born on April 22, 1935 in Thomaston Ga, to the late Gene and Gladys Mullis Ruffin. She was formerly employed with Belks where she worked as a clerk. Mrs. Gulledge was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Mr. Ray Gulledge of Thomaston Ga, sons Mr. Kenny Gulledge of Thomaston Ga, Mr. Gary (Darlene) Gulledge of Thomaston Ga. 2 Grandchildren. 4 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Friday January 1, 2016 from 6-8 p.m.

MRS. ANN GARMANY HAYES

Mrs. Ann Garmany Hayes age 89 of Thomaston Ga, died Thursday December 31, 2015 at her residence. 

Mrs. Hayes was born on January 16, 1926 in Henegar Al, to the late Ambers and Daisy Elrod Garmany. She was formerly employed with Neal Logue Department Store where she worked in sales for many years. Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her husband Mr. John D. Hayes.

Survivors include her daughter Mrs. Theresa (Ronald) Ellington of Macon Ga, son Mr. Dennis Hayes of Thomaston Ga, grandchildren Tracy (Ricky) Jones, Rhonda (Wesley) Minchew both of Macon Ga, great grandchildren Shiann Minchew, Dylan Minchew, Jake Brown, Colton Jones all of Macon Ga.

The family will receive friends at Mrs. Hayes's residence 902 South Church St, on Sunday January 3, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. With a private burial at a later date.

Mrs. Edith LaFaye "Faye" McGinty age 79 of Griffin Ga, died Wednesday December 30, 2015 at Eternal Hope Hospice.

Mrs. McGinty was born on June 16, 1936 in Thomaston Ga, to the late Grady and Annie Ruth Goodman. She was formerly employed with Lamar County Board of Education where she worked for many years.

Survivors include her daughter Mrs. Christi (Rick Harris) Peterman of Griffin Ga, son Mr. Gregg (Elena) Peterman of Lexington S.C., sister Mrs. Kathy (Jimmy) Jones of Thomaston Ga, grandchildren Brandi Henderson, Reece Daniel, Vanessa Peterman, Natalie Peterman, great grandchildren Helen Henderson, Thomas Henderson.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday January 3, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Sunday January 3, 2016 from 1-3 p.m.

Mr. Robert R. "Robbie" Montgomery, age 38, of Macon, formerly of Thomaston, died Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the Bowlingreen Health and Rehab Center in Macon.

Mr. Montgomery, was born on January 18, 1977 in Upson County to Susan Johnson and Tony Montgomery.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Susan (Tony) Johnson of Zebulon; father, Tony Montgomery of Zebulon; sister, January G. Trent of Zebulon; brother, Thomas C, Montgomery of Zebulon; and uncle, James Gautney of Thomaston.

Memorial services for Mr. Montgomery will be held by his family at a later date.

Mr. Jimmie J. Rogers Jr., age 49, of Thomaston died Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Upson Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Rogers was born September 1, 1966, in Thomaston to Jerone and Linda Rogers Sr. of Thomaston. He was a Welder for Supreme Corp in Griffin, member of Cross Roads Community Church, Youth Minister and Armor Bearer.

He is survived by his parents, Jerone and Linda Rogers Sr. of Thomaston; sisters, Dixie (Scott) Garner of Hollonville GA, and Robin (Steve) Artinger of Molena. 

Funeral services for Mr. Rogers will be held Thursday, December 17, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Cross Roads Community Church, with burial to follow in Fincher Memorial Cemetery in Meansville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Coggins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Cross Roads Community Church, 3029 Barnesville Hwy, Thomaston GA 30286.

Mrs. Self was born on October 10, 1915 in Greenville Ga, to the late Ollie and Susie Gilbert. She worked as a hairdresser for many years. Mrs. Self was a member of Silvertown Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Self.

Survivors include her niece Mrs. Janetta (Steve) Hancock of Alpharetta Ga, nephews Mr. Don (Terri) Pippins of Newark, DE, Mr. John Clay (Sammie) Pippins of Columbus Ga, several great nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Bailey was born on January 14, 1925 in Thomaston GA, to the late Thomas H. Bailey Sr, and Sara Eunice Gregory Bailey. He was formerly employed with B.F. Goodrich's Martha Mills, where he worked in the maintenance department for over 30 years. Mr. Bailey was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He loved hunting & building houses. Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kathleen Bailey.

Survivors include his daughters, Mary Joyce (Jesse) Littlejohn of Yatesville GA, Glenda Fay Logan of Yatesville GA; 4 Grandchildren, and 9 Great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at 1:00 p.m., from Antioch Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Friday, December 11, 2015, from 5-7 p.m.

Survivors include her husband Mr. James Coker of Thomaston Ga, daughters Mrs. Tanna (Jack) Phipps of Thomaston Ga, Mrs. Shannon (Steven) Trotter of Birmingham Al, 4 Grandchildren.

Mr. Cochran was born on November 2, 1930 in Zebulon Ga. He owned and Operated Cochran Service Station for many years. Mr. Cochran served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Pritchett Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Cochran was preceded in death by his wife Margie Cochran, daughter Faye Boyt, son Randy Cochran.

Survivors include his daughter in law Mrs. Teresa (John) Harper of Meansville Ga, grandchildren Mr. Kevin Boyt, Ms. Jennifer Boyt, great grandchild Mr. Tyler Boyt.

Miss Ozelle Eleanor Gordy, 79, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Miss Gordy will be held on Friday, October 30th, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with Dr. Rex King and Rev. Tim South officiating. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Church Cemetery.

Miss Gordy was born in Pike County on July 9th, 1936, a daughter of the late Byron Barnard Gordy and Bessie Stribling Gordy. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Elkins Creek Baptist Church.
Miss Gordy is survived by a son, Mickey Gordy of Thomaston; a sister, Elaine Nordan of Thomaston; four brothers, David (Donna) Gordy, Joe (Faye) Gordy and Cyrus Gordy, all of Thomaston, and Bobbie Gordy of Griffin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Miss Gordy was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Hall, and three brothers, Buford Gordy, Jack Gordy and Raymond Gordy.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Merrill; daughters, Angel Merrill of Thomaston, and Stacey (Terry) Raybon of Thomaston; sons, Chancy Merrill of Thomaston, Gabriel Allen Merrill of Alabama, John Brown of Thomaston, and Jesse James of Thomaston; sister, Martha "Sissy" Mills of Thomaston; brother, Paul Merrill of Thomaston; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Ms. Crawford was born on June 24, 1960 in Upson County to the late Jack Eugen  and Joyce Childs Crawford. She taught Adult Education and was in charge of the Tutoring Program at Southern Crescent Technical College, and a member of Thomaston First Methodist Church. 
 
Survivors are her brother, Ronald (Terri) Crawford of Thomaston; and several nieces and nephews.
 
Memorial services for Ms. Crawford will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 3:00 - 4:00 pm at Coggins Funeral home.
 
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donation be made to the Thomaston First Methodist Church Youth Ministry, 132 Cherokee Rd, Thomaston GA 30286.

Mrs. Opalene Yates Woodson, 86, of Peachtree City and formerly of Thomaston, died Sunday, October 11, 2015, at Ashley Glen Assisted Living Facility In Peachtree City.
Funeral services for Mrs. Woodson will be held on Tuesday, October 13th, 2015 at 3 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Thomaston with the Rev. Herb Flanders officiating. Burial will follow in South View Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Woodson will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church Social Hall on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.

Mr. Freddie Wayne Crane, age 59 of Thomaston died on Wednesday, September 30, 2015.
 
Mr. Crane was born in Thomaston to the late Grover Furman and Emma Lee Crane. He was a Greens keeper at The Cedars Golf Course in Zebulon, and attended New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church.
 
Survivors include his wife, Janell Crane of Meansville; son, Frank (Kathy) Yates of Milledgeville; sisters, Lindie (Buddy) Morris of The Rock, Mary (Roger) Young of The Rock, and Janie Wright of Chatsworth GA; and grandchildren Kevin and Chelsea Yates.  
 
Funeral services for Mr. Crane will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.

MR. MARVIN DOUGLAS GORDON

Mr. Marvin Douglas Gordon age 98 of Thomaston Ga, died Sunday September 27, 2015 at Riverside Nursing Center. 

Mr. Gordon was born on July 14, 1917 in Bainbridge Ga, to the late Robert Boyd and Martha Della Gordon. He was formerly employed with B.F. Goodrich Mills where he worked for many years. Mr. Gordon served his country in the U.S. Army Air-Corps. He was preceded in death by his wife Annie Pfannkuche Gordon.

Survivors include his daughter Mrs. Sue (Luke) Stewart of Morganton Ga, son Mr. Doug (Susan) Gordon of Woodland Ga, sister Mrs. Margaret Weaver of Camilla Ga. 5 Grandchildren. 8 Great Grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday September 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Upson Memorial Gardens.

Mr. James Alton "Buddy" Barnes age 75 of Thomaston Ga, died Saturday September 26, 2015 at Brightmoor Hospice.

Mr. Barnes was born on June 25, 1940 in Pulaski TN, to the late Grady and Hazel Marie Barnes. He was a graduate of R.E. Lee Institute and attended Georgia Tech. Mr. Barnes was employed with Honda Jet where he worked as an Aircraft Engineer. He was a member of Mensa International. Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his father Grady Wilson Barnes, mother Hazel Marie Barnes, brothers Larry Barnes, Billy Barnes & Johnny Barnes.

Survivors include his brother Mr. Tony (Debbie) Barnes of Thomaston Ga, sister Ms. Linda Barnes Jordon of Thomaston Ga, girlfriend Kerry Breen of Fayetteville Ga, many nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday October 4, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Sunday October 4, 2015 from 2-4 p.m.

She is survived by her daughters, Angela McWaters, MaryAnn (Daniel) Coley; and son, Billy Walden all of Thomaston; brother, Donald Austin Webb Jr. of Molena; sister, Tammy (Martin) Colley of Columbus; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
 
Memorial Services will held by the family at a later date.

She was born in Thomaston to the late Earnest and Annie Grace Boyt. She was a Homemaker and member of Mountain View Baptist church.
 
Mrs. Crook is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Eugene Crook. Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia Carole (Mike) Bridges of Lawrenceville GA, Catherine Elaine (Doug) Howell of Cumming GA, and Christy (Glenn) Williams of Madison AL; sister-in-law, Pat Boyt; and 9 grandchildren.
