Mr. Wyndell Dean Thompson Jr. age 59 of Thomaston died November 28, 2022, at Upson Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services for Mr. Thompson will be held on Wednesday, November 30, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Interment will follow in South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.

Mrs. Barbara Jean Alford Bethune age 88 of Thomaston Ga, died Sunday November 27, 2022, at Riverside Health and Rehab.
Mrs. Bethune was born on July 13, 1934, in Griffin, Georgia, to the late Clarence Alford and the late Josephine Alford. She worked in distribution at the William Carter Company for 49 and half years and was a member of Pritchett Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William "Jim" Bethune, and daughter, Christi Callahan.
Survivors include her daughter, Vikki (Gene) Roberts of Thomaston, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. from Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James “Jim” Miles Barnett and George Roberts, brother, Buddy Avery, and sister, Ola Mae Dover.
She is survived by her sons: Mikel Roberts (Jennifer) of Tucson, AZ, Scott Roberts (Crystal) of Griffin and Jeff Roberts (Jennifer) of Concord; grandchildren: J.J., Tristan, Chase, Clint, Danny and Chloe; sister: Briness Kennedy of Jackson; brother: Bill Avery (Jackie) of Daphne, AL; brother-in-law: Carl Dover of Jonesboro; and many other relatives and friends.

Ms. Harmon was born on July 25, 1936, to the late Andrew and Dewey Taylor. She was wed to Joseph Jackson Harmon. The couple had two sons, Jack and Jody. Ms. Harmon enjoyed reading and sitting with elderly patients in need of companionship and love. She was a longtime member of Pike Assembly of God where she enjoyed meaningful friendships with the New Found Joy group.
Along with her parents, Ms. Harmon was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Jackson Harmon, and son, Murray “Jack” Harmon.
She is survived by her son and daughters-in-law: Jody and Andrea Harmon of Lithia Springs, Sylvia Harmon of Milner; grandchildren: Jacob Harmon and Christina Harmon; great-grandchildren: Nathan Layton and Troy Layton; niece: Fonda Reid, nephew: Roger Reid; several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mr. Jeffrey Julian Passmore, age 52, of Macon passed away November 22, 2022, in his home surrounded by loved ones. Jeff grew up in the Southeastern part of the United States. His family settled in Georgia where he graduated from Jones County High in 1988 and then attended Mercer University in Macon. Jeff worked for Channel 41 in Macon for many years and then for Third Wave Digital as Creative Assistant and drone pilot. He was a movie buff and especially loved Sci-Fi. He was also a fan of Dragon*Con and enjoyed reading. Jeff loved everything about Disney World.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian Eskil Passmore and Margaret Antoinette King Passmore, and his uncle Wayne King.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Passmore; daughters, Samantha Passmore and Keira Passmore; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Patty Passmore; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Angela and Greg Miller; nieces, Anastasia Miller, Gabriella Miller and Melissa Taylor; great-nephew and niece, Nathan and Brianna Taylor; honorary brother, Tom Gillon.

Tim was born to the late Bobby Zellner and Cheryl C. Zellner. He grew up in Barnesville and graduated from Lamar County Comprehensive High School. He worked at Giant Mart in both Barnesville and Zebulon for 15 years. With a passion for children and coaching, Tim went back to school, earning degrees from Gordon College and Mercer University before starting his career in education in the Pike County school system. He started as a paraprofessional at Pike County High School before teaching at Pike County Middle School. Tim coached football, wrestling, and baseball at the high school level where he would become known affectionately as “Coach Z.” He would eventually stop coaching sports but wanted to keep coaching children in life. Tim would earn his Masters in Counseling from Liberty University and eventually served as a school counselor at the Pike County High School, Ninth Grade Academy and Middle School.
Tim was a life-long member of Calvary Baptist Church in Barnesville, where he currently served as a men’s Sunday School teacher, sound system technician and was chairman of the Deacons, a position his father once held. Tim loved all things Disney, yardwork, growing vegetables and cooking. He was famous for his wonderful coconut cakes.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Zellner, his PawPaw Eugene “Pete” Blackmon, his MawMaw Sybil Blackmon and great-niece, Abigail Thomas.
Tim is survived by his wife: Kathy Milner Zellner of Barnesville; daughters, son-in-law: Jessica Zellner of Windermere, Fla. and Jennifer and Derek Petty of Zebulon; and was “Opa” to his granddaughter: Katherine “Kate” Susanna Petty. He is also survived by his granddog: Magnolia; his mother: Cheryl C. Martha was born on August 18, 1930, to the late Forman and Laura Coventry. She was a lifelong resident of Pike County. She was the proud mother of 7 children. She was blessed to have two loving husbands over the years: Harold Sandefur, until his passing in 1978 and Edwin Williams for 14 years until his passing. Martha was a seamstress for more than 30 years working for Carter’s and Sherri Lynn. She was a longtime member of Pine Mountain Nazarene Church. She also taught Sunday school for many years.
Martha was a strong-willed lady with deep Christian faith. She was known to care for everyone else around her. Her home was open to neighborhood children who would come for love, healing, advice and a good meal. She didn’t know a stranger and consistently put others before herself. Martha was a caring and wonderful mother, Grandma/Memaw and sister. She will be remembered by her kind heart and her strong love for Jesus.

Darline was born in Atlanta on February 6, 1947, to the late Clarence and Frances Durden. She worked in the Jackson County School System for 20 years as a paraprofessional, library assistant and substitute teacher. She attended Apple Valley Baptist Church for many years. She was also a longtime Sunday school teacher. Darline was a Godly woman who was strong in her Baptist faith.
Darline loved camping and traveling with her late husband Bill. The couple enjoyed visiting the beach and the mountains. She was a talented baker and cake decorator. She also catered for many years. She enjoyed crafting and painting. Darline was known for her happy spirit and deep faith in Christ. She was a loving mother and Nana who adored her family and loved her life.
Along with her parents, Darline was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William T. “Bill” Atwood, and brother, Joseph Durden.

Betty was born on June 6, 1947, to the late Henry and Mamie Sherrill. She grew up in Louisiana where she was wed to Charles Michel, Sr. The couple had three sons and one daughter. Betty worked as an accountant for more 20 years until her eventual retirement. Betty was a longtime member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant, LA.
Over the years, Betty and her children resided in many places including Louisiana, Georgia, Texas and Montana. She had a gypsy soul and enjoyed a fresh start in a new place. Betty had a knack for sewing and crocheting. She was a fan of Elvis, James Dean and Marilyn Monroe. She had a heart for animals and couldn’t turn away a stray, even it was a opossum (Harry). Betty was caring and giving. She was a friend to many and a hand-up for those seeking refuge. Betty had a natural tendency to mother those in her life. She put others before herself and was an ally to those who needed her without judgement. Betty will be remembered for her giving heart and loving spirit.

Mr. Presley was born in Spalding County, Georgia, on October 26, 1948, a son of the late Otis Presley and Frances Chambley Presley. He was employed in the supply room of Thomaston Mills as a supervisor. He was later employed with the Georgia Department of Transportation and retired as a construction project manager. Dannis was a Scout Master for Troop 26 and a member of the Lions Club. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hiking and camping. He loved his family very much, especially his children and grandchildren. Mr. Presley was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.

Mrs. Shara Simmons Clay, age 73, of Yatesville, died Tuesday November 22, 2022, at Upson Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Clay was born on October 9, 1949, in Cordele, Georgia, to the late Willie Simmons and the late Dorothy Wilkes Simmons. She worked in retail at Winn Dixie and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Mickey Clay, and brother, J.Q. Simmons.
Survivors include her daughter, Tammy (Darryll) Kipp of Yatesville, sons, Jonny White of Thomaston, Edward White of Thomaston, sisters, Fara (Louie) Teal of Thomaston, Mary White of Thomaston, Dorothy Hall of Thomaston, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Clay was cremated and her family will have a memorial service at a later date.

Mr. Robinson dearly loved his home and farm in Pike County, where he bred and raised Saddlebred and Quarter horses. He also gardened and was a beekeeper. He was a faithful and long-time member of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church in Zebulon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Yvonne Bissonette Robinson, his son, Michael Robinson, daughter, Mary Bryars, and aunts Lela McDowell and Grace Kline.

Mr. Webb was born November 9, 1939, in Thomaston, a son of the late Eddie Webb and the late Emma Avery Webb. “Sonny” as he was known throughout Thomaston and around the state, was a barber and the owner/operator of Webb’s Barber Shop. When he began his career at the age of 15, he would have to stand on a Coca-Cola crate to reach his clients. He served his country in the National Guard for six years, the only time during his career that he left Thomaston. In a recent interview, he commented that his busiest days where during ROTC inspections where the cadets would begin lining up at 7:00 AM for a fresh haircut. His career spanned over 67 years. Sonny loved gardening and fishing. He competed in rodeos with horses and enjoyed participating in 5K races. Mr. Webb was a member of Thomaston First Baptist Church.
Sonny is survived by his wife, Nancy Williams Webb of Thomaston; his children, Eddie David Webb, Jr., Tracy (Jason) Wainwright, and Brian (Victoria) Webb, all of Thomaston; his grandchildren, Jordan Wainwright, Jake Wainwright, Landon Webb, Trey Webb, Jaxon Webb, and Blake Webb.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nell Talbird, and his brother, Larry “Duck” Webb.

Mrs. Stephenson was born in Upson County, on January 25, 1942, the daughter of the late Clarence Lee Allen and the late Sara McMillian Allen. She was a 1959 graduate of Yatesville High School, where she was a member of the Lady Jackets championship basketball team. She was employed with the Thomaston Police Department for 33 years where she was a police officer, clerk of court, and retired as an administrative assistant. She was later employed with Fletcher-Day Funeral Home as a funeral service associate. Mrs. Stephenson was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.
Mrs. Stephenson is survived by her niece, Lisa Allen (Roger) Anderson of Melbourne, Florida, and numerous cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Stephenson, her brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Joanne Allen, and her nephew, Lee Allen.

Mrs. McDaniel was born in Thomaston on April 29, 1945, to the late James T. McKinley, Sr. and Annie Laura Blount McKinley. She was a 1963 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and was retired from Flint River Technical School as an administrative assistant. Mrs. McDaniel was a member of the First Baptist Church of Thomaston. She enjoyed many beach vacations with her family, and she was loving and giving to her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McDaniel was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Carlton McDaniel, and a granddaughter, Laura Virginia Huey. She is survived by a daughter, Hope (Robert) Huey of Thomaston; two sisters: Linda Jones of Woodstock, GA, and Cindy (Greg) Culverhouse of Thomaston; a brother: Jimmy (Glenda) McKinley of Thomaston; three grandchildren: Amanda (Jamie) Ray, Mekeyia Huey, and Will Huey; two great grandchildren: Addison and Colton Ray; nieces and nephews: Alicia McKinley, Annie (Travis) King, Mack (Jackie) Culverhouse, and Brooke (Chris) Varner; and two great nieces: Campbell and Charlie King.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Linda Sue Long, Gary Edwards, and Linda Gail Puckett, his great-grandmother, Billie D. Ragsdale and his best friend, Summer Lee.
He is survived by his father: Keith Puckett (Sherry Puckett); mother: Sabrina Edwards (Greg Railey); sister: Kalli Ware (Chase Ware); niece and nephew: Rhyan Ware, Rhyleigh Ware and Rayden Ware; step-brother: Dylan Driver; grandfathers: Earl Long “Pop” and Charles Puckett “PawPaw”; aunt and uncle: Nan and Jerry Gibson; along with many more aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lynda Jones, age 74 of Thomaston, died Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Brightmoor Hospice.
Mrs. Jones was born in Macon, Georgia, on July 10, 1948, to the late Chester Ross and the late Edna Moore Ross. She was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her daughter, Michelle (Mike) Ellington of The Rock, sons, Jimmy Jones, Marty (Wendy) Jones, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lynda Jones was cremated, and no services are planned at this time.

Mrs. Carol Ogletree Barfield, age 63 of Barnesville, died Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Brightmoor Hospice.
Mrs. Barfield was born on May 3, 1959, in Thomaston to the late Ralph Sims Ogletree and Remona Duncan Anderson. She worked at Ace Cleaners in Forsyth for fourteen years and was of the Baptist Faith. She is preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her mother, Remona Anderson of Barnesville, daughter, Shannon Ann Barfield of Barnesville, sons, Stacy Lamon (Ashley Laura) Barfield of Thomaston, Terry Lee Ogletree of Barnesville, brother, Ralph Sims Ogletree Jr. of Barnesville, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
Gail was born on March 19, 1951, in Tifton, Georgia. She grew up in the small town of Omega in South Georgia alongside four sisters and two brothers. Gail resided in Pike County with her husband, Darrell, for the past 25 years. She retired from her position as a parole investigator for the Department of Pardons and Parole after more than 25 years of service. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Zebulon where she was involved in Sunday School classes and the Christian Outreach program.
Gail enjoyed traveling, sewing, reading, and solving puzzles. She was an excellent cook, particularly of southern dishes. She was a wonderful Mimi who always supported and doted on her grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was whatever event or activity they were involved in. Gail will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Elwood Sumner and Juanita Powell Sumner, and parents-in-law, Morris and Myrtle Arrington.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years: Darrell Arrington of Griffin; children and their spouses: Sheila and Greg Colston of Brooks, Lanny and Doni Arrington of Fayetteville, Jamie and Jamie Arrington of Williamson; grandchildren: Lauren Colston (fiancé Davis Sutton), Erin Colston, Cody Colston, Garrett Arrington, Abigail Arrington, Ansley Arrington, Brooke Arrington and Cole Arrington; sisters: Patsy (Roger) Buffi of Ty Ty, Donna Sumner, Nancy (Gene) Holly and Sharon (Steven) Cooper, all of Tifton; brothers: Aubrey (Dana) Sumner and Timmy Sumner, both of Omega; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Stanley and Iris Arrington of Tifton; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Hinesley and Pastor Keith Alderman officiating. Burial will follow in Fincher Memorial Cemetery in Meansville.
Cody Colston, Garrett Arrington, Brad Arrington, Mike Hightower, Dale Thorn and Wayne Peavy will serve as pallbearers.

Charlotte was born on March 26, 1937, in Covington, GA to the late Charles and Helen Dick. She was married to Tommy Powers for 63 years. They had two children, Lynda and Gordon. Charlotte loved being involved in church, singing in the choir and teaching children’s Sunday school. She loved to read and study God’s word and share her love for the Lord with others. She served as the Flint River Baptist Associational Clerk for many years. She also served in many other church and associational positions through the years. Charlotte was a member of Rock Springs Church. She worked for Commercial Bank and First Union for a number of years serving in many positions including administrative assistant to the President before she and her husband opened Seven Oaks Restaurant in Meansville, GA.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Helen Dick, her brother and sister-in- law Roy and Nancy Dick, her niece Laurie Griggers and her husband Tommy Powers.
Survivors include her children Lynda Sisson (Ed Sisson) Gordon Powers (Missy Powers) all of Meansville, GA; grandchildren Jared Sisson (Emily) of Mobile, AL, Luke Sisson (Abigail) of Vinings, GA, Parker Powers (Malinda) of Mobile, AL, Carson Powers, Bailey Powers and Landon Powers of Meansville, GA; great-grandson Elias Powers.
Friends may visit the family from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m on Monday, November 14, 2022, at Moody- Daniel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, on the Rock Springs Campus at Providence Church at the Cross. Rev Benny Tate will officiate.
Mrs. Powers will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service to lie-in-state.
A private family burial will be held following the service.
