Darline L. Atwood, age 75, of Molena, passed away November 21, 2022.
Darline was born in Atlanta on February 6, 1947, to the late Clarence and Frances Durden. She worked in the Jackson County School System for 20 years as a paraprofessional, library assistant and substitute teacher. She attended Apple Valley Baptist Church for many years. She was also a longtime Sunday school teacher. Darline was a Godly woman who was strong in her Baptist faith.
Darline loved camping and traveling with her late husband Bill. The couple enjoyed visiting the beach and the mountains. She was a talented baker and cake decorator. She also catered for many years. She enjoyed crafting and painting. Darline was known for her happy spirit and deep faith in Christ. She was a loving mother and Nana who adored her family and loved her life.
Along with her parents, Darline was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William T. “Bill” Atwood, and brother, Joseph Durden.
She is survived by her children: Ginger Atwood of Molena, Scott (Beth) Atwood of Demorest; grandchildren: Matthew, Luke, Jeff, William and Kara; great-grandchildren: Kyson, Remington, Harrison, Josy and Caden; sister and brother-in-law: Wanda and Tommy Harden of Jonesboro; sister-in-law: Brenda Durden of Milner; numerous cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, November 26th at Moody-Daniel Funeral Home. Friends may visit the family beginning at 10 AM at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held for immediate family members at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
