Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Brooks will be held on Wednesday, January 18, at 2:00 PM, in South View Cemetery with Rev. Dean Hemphill officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brooks was born in Thomaston, on August 7, 1935, a daughter of the late Curtis Wade and the late Eva Piper Wade. She was employed with William Carter Company and later retired as Cloth Inspector at Thomaston Mills. She loved baking, cooking, and flowers. Mrs. Brooks was member of Clark's Chapel Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by her sons, Robbie (Debbie) Brooks and William "Bill" (Vanessa) Brooks, both of Thomaston; her sister, Martha Barfield of Thomaston; her grandson, Shannon Brooks; her great grandchildren, Colton (Alisha) Brooks, Kristen Brooks, and Matthew Brooks; and her great-greatgrandchildren, Madison Brooks Ryleigh Richardson, and Anna Kollin Brooks.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by husband, Merrell L. Brooks.
