Jerry Hand

Mr. Jerry Hand, age 82, of Griffin, passed away January 20, 2023, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin. He was born in Leary, GA, son of the late Henry Dorsey Hand and Norma Fannin Hand. Jerry served in the National Guard for four years. He then went to work for Metro Prison in Atlanta as a guard and retired after 20+ years as a Peace Officer. Jerry was a wonderful artist and enjoyed painting pictures.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers, Frances Eubanks, Talmadge Hand, and Athene Welch.

 

He is survived by his sisters: Sue Johnson, Patricia “Pat” Sprayberry (Albert), and Sherry Tweedell (Tony); brothers: Ronald Hand (Brenda) and Paul Hand; many nieces and nephews.

 

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 23, at 11 a.m., in Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. Pastor Albert Sprayberry will officiate.
