Mrs. Sandra “Maxine” Neal, age 82, of Peachtree City, passed away April 27, 2023.
Maxine was born on June 14, 1940, to the late Mac Partain and the late Doris Moore Partain. She grew up in Stone Mountain alongside two sisters. Maxine was a graduate of Southwest Dekalb High School. In 1961, she was wed to Curt Neal, Jr. The couple welcomed two sons, David and Matt. Maxine spent most of her life as a Fayette County resident.
Maxine was outgoing, friendly, and never met a stranger. She was an excellent cook who loved to feed her family with her southern style of cooking. She was a longtime member of Woolsey Baptist Church. She loved God and was a devout believer in Christ. Above all, Maxine was dedicated to her Savior and her family. She was a loving Nana who supported and encouraged all her grandchildren. She would often be found cheering them on at sporting events and would never miss their birthday. She was a precious mother who loved her sons. She was a devoted wife to her husband during their 61 years of marriage. Maxine spent her life as a homemaker and caregiver. Memories of Maxine’s love and care for others will be forever cherished by her sons and family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curtley Franklin Neal, Jr., and sister, Myrna Baines.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: David and Windi Neal of Williamson and Matt and Donnah Neal of Sharpsburg; 15 grandchildren: Megan, Madison, Hannah, Susannah, Willem, Christian Matthew, Annaliese, Isaiah, Elsie Grace, Kylah, Meliah, Juliette, Gideon, Noelle and Talitha; sister and brother-in-law: Marion and Royce Cheney of McDonough; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 2, at 2 PM, in Woolsey Baptist Church, 115 Hampton Road, Fayetteville. Friends may visit the family beginning at 1 PM at the church. Burial will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens in Zebulon.
